The impact of the 18-hour sit-in! The police bowed before Deepak Baij.

Raipur. State Congress President Deepak Baij suspended his 18-hour sit-in at Khamhardih police station for a week after receiving a written assurance from the police that they would file charges against BJP workers accused of pelting stones at the Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan. The police assured action on all three Congress demands.

1. Investigate the application of Congress within seven days and file FIR against BJP workers who attacked the Congress Bhawan.

2. FIR against the culprits after getting the injured Congress workers medically treated.

3. The non-bailable sections imposed on the Congressmen will be investigated and the non-bailable sections will be removed.

State Congress President Deepak Baij said that ministers of the BJP government had come with a mob to attack the Congress office. In a democracy, everyone has the right to protest, but stone-pelting and abuse in front of ministers in the opposition party's office is completely unacceptable. Intoxicated with power, BJP ministers have violated democratic norms. Congress condemns this act by the BJP. If the police do not take just action as promised, we will protest again.
