Vishnu Bhaiya's Mahtari Vandan gift to his sisters before Rakshabandhan

Raipur: Before the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has given a special gift to the sisters of Chhattisgarh in the form of the 30th installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. With the 30th installment released on August 7, 2026, an amount of more than Rs 19,444 crore 33 lakh has been transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women of the state. This amount, which reached the accounts before Raksha Bandhan, has become a gift for women, enhancing the happiness of the festival along with providing them financial support.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana, operated under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, has now become a strong foundation for women's dignity, self-respect, self-confidence, and self-reliance. Under the scheme, assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month is being transferred directly to women's bank accounts through DBT.

Amount reaches account before Rakshabandhan, happiness on sisters' faces
Rakshabandhan is a festival of love and trust between brother and sister. This time there is special enthusiasm among women on receiving the amount of Mahtari Vandan before the festival. Women are preparing to celebrate the festival of Rakshabandhan with great pomp by purchasing Rakhi, sweets and gifts for their brothers with this amount as well as fulfilling the needs of the family.
Women say that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has doubled the happiness of the sisters by giving them the amount of Mahtari Vandan before Rakshabandhan. For them it is not just a monthly assistance of one thousand rupees but a feeling of trust and respect to take their own decisions, big or small.

The monthly assistance has become a source of support for families.
Women from Surajpur district, such as Mrs. Tej Kumari, Mrs. Manju Rajwade, Mrs. Punia Prajapati, Mrs. Shahnaz Begum, Mrs. Ganeshwari Prajapati, Mrs. Menka Rajwade, and Mrs. Lata Kewat, said that with the money from the Mahatari Vandan, they are able to cover their children's education, books, nutritious food, and other daily needs. This amount is also proving useful for them on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

A new path from savings to self-employment:
The positive impact of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana is not limited to domestic needs. Many women have laid the foundation for self-employment by saving the regular amount they receive.
