H1N1 cases in India have increased more than six-fold, with dengue and malaria outbreaks also on the rise.
New Delhi. India has seen a more than six-fold increase in H1N1 infections compared to previous years. Along with this, cases of other seasonal diseases like dengue and malaria are also on the rise. In response to the rising number of infections, many companies are advising their employees to avoid crowded places, wear masks when necessary, and take special health precautions.
The Ministry of Health is continuously monitoring the situation of seasonal diseases, including H1N1, through laboratories across the country. According to health officials, the spread and pattern of infections are currently being monitored to detect any unusual increases in cases in a timely manner.
According to health experts, the H1N1 strain currently circulating doesn't show any major changes compared to last year. Rajiv Bahl, secretary of the Department of Health Research and director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research, said the infection is generally mild in healthy people, and most patients recover with symptoms similar to those of the common seasonal flu.
