Raipur, Principal Secretary of Tribal, Scheduled Caste and Backward Class and Minority Development Department and Secretary in-charge of Durg district, Mr. Sonmani Bora inspected PM Shri Vidyalaya located in Kumhari of Durg district today. During the inspection, he closely observed all the departments of the school. Mr. Bora inspected the school library, science laboratory, Atal Lab, sports room and all the classrooms. He expressed his happiness on seeing the Jadoo Patara activities being conducted in the primary department and the teaching work being done through smart class in the middle department. He interacted with the students with ease and took information about their studies and sports. Collector Mr. Abhijeet Singh was present on this occasion.

Principal Secretary Mr. Bora, in his discussion with the students, stated that success is achieved through disciplined hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice. During his interaction with the children during the PMSHRI school inspection, he emphasized that for success in life, students must not only study but also become knowledge-hungry learners and aspirants from an early age. He commended the school's excellent exam results and student achievements, and met and honored the toppers from all classes. Principal Secretary Mr. Bora and Collector Mr. Singh encouraged the students to set goals in life and asked what they would like to become. When asked, the toppers expressed their desire to become CAs, cyber engineers, or collectors. Wishing the students a bright future, the officials praised the teachers' efforts and commended the school's academic and co-curricular activities.

Raipur, May 10, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today attended the state-level conference and felicitation ceremony of All India Kshatriya Kurmi Samaj held at Dongaria in Kabirdham district. On this occasion, he underlined the contribution of Kurmi Samaj in the unity, organization, social consciousness of the society and the development of the country and the state and said that only an organized and strong society is the foundation of a strong nation. During the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai also gifted the people of the area important development works related to irrigation, roads and religious tourism. Earlier, he reached Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham and performed Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath and wished for happiness, peace and prosperity of the people of the state.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Kurmi community has a glorious history. Great figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel have played a historic role in the country's unity, security, and nation-building. He said that the Kurmi community is a hardworking, progressive, and conscious community that has carved out a unique identity for itself in every field, from agriculture to education, administration, and social leadership.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is undergoing a new era of cultural and spiritual renaissance. The construction of the Lord Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya has become a symbol of faith for millions of countrymen. He said that the state government is providing devotees with a visit to Ayodhya through the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, and approximately 42,000 devotees have benefited from it so far. The Chief Minister's Tirtha Darshan Yojana has also been relaunched, under which senior citizens are being taken on pilgrimages to 19 major pilgrimage sites in the country.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government has worked to implement "Modi's guarantee" in the last two and a half years. So far, 27 installments have been paid under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, transferring 27,000 rupees each to the accounts of millions of women in the state. He said that irrigation projects worth 10,500 crore rupees have been approved in the state, which will strengthen the agricultural sector. Work is also being carried out rapidly on the expansion and modernization of railway infrastructure.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's resolution of a developed India by 2047, a vision document is being prepared to develop Chhattisgarh as a developed state and work is being done in a planned manner. The government is also working towards developing the state's five major Shakti Peethas and connecting them through religious and cultural corridors. He stated that only an educated and organized society can establish new dimensions of continuous development.

High-level bridges, modern ‘haat’ bazaars, fruit and vegetable market and Mahtari Sadans to accelerate rural development

Raipur, May 10, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday performed the ‘bhoomipujan’ and inauguration of 12 development works more than Rs 16.5 crore during a programme held at Gram Panchayat Kaliba under Kunkuri development block in Jashpur district.

These development works include important infrastructure projects such as high-level bridges, modern ‘haat’ bazaars, fruit and vegetable market, school buildings and Mahtari Sadans, which will strengthen transportation, education, agricultural marketing, women empowerment and rural infrastructure in the region.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is committed to ensuring development reaches villages, the poor, farmers and the last person in society. He stated that basic infrastructure such as roads, bridges, schools, markets and women’s centres are not merely construction works, but important instruments for strengthening the rural economy and social life. These projects will bring positive changes in people’s lives and create new opportunities in rural areas.

Chief Minister Shri Sai performed the bhoomipujan of 8 development works worth Rs 12 crore 86 lakh 3 thousand during the programme. Through the Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing Board, a modern haat bazaar will be constructed at Gram Panchayat Kaliba at a cost of Rs 57.66 lakh, with facilities such as covered sheds, borewell and CC roads. Similarly, another modern ‘haat’ bazaar will be built at Gram Panchayat Behrakhar at a cost of Rs 80.59 lakh. These markets will provide farmers and rural traders with better and more convenient places to sell their produce and will boost local trade.

The Public Works Department (Bridge Division) will construct a high-level bridge and approach road on the Kaliba–Tangarbahar (Baigatoli) route at a cost of around Rs 5.11 crore. Another high-level bridge and approach road will be constructed over Champajhariya Nala on the Banspatra–Duldula route at a cost of Rs 5 crore 90 lakh 80 thousand. These bridges will significantly improve connectivity, especially during the monsoon season, and provide long-awaited relief to villagers facing transportation difficulties.

Along with this, ‘bhoomipujan’ was also performed for the construction of new school buildings under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department for Primary School Korwadera, Primary School Dadgaon, Boys Middle School Narayanpur and Primary School Lalgoda. These new buildings will provide students with improved educational infrastructure and a better learning environment.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also inaugurated 4 completed development works worth Rs 3 crore 19 lakh 88 thousand. Under the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Jashpur, a fruit and vegetable market along with warehouse, platform, toilets, parking and CC roads constructed at Upmandi Kunkuri located in Gram Panchayat Kandora (Mahuatoli) at a cost of Rs 2 crore 45 lakh 78 thousand was inaugurated. The new market facility will provide farmers and traders with improved storage, transportation and marketing facilities for agricultural produce.

In addition, Mahtari Sadans constructed at Dhodhibahar, Narayanpur and Keradih under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department were also inaugurated. Each Mahtari Sadan has been built at a cost of Rs 24.70 lakh.

Raipur, May 10, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Dongariya village in Pandariya development block of Kabirdham district on May 10. He offered prayers and performed Jalabhishek with traditional rituals at the renowned Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham. The Chief Minister prayed to Bhagwan Shiva for the happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the cultural and spiritual traditions of Chhattisgarh are an integral part of the state’s identity. He stated that such sacred places are not only centres of faith, but also sources of inspiration that help keep the state’s cultural heritage “alive and deeply connected with society.” He added that the state government is continuously working to preserve and promote cultural and religious heritage alongside development initiatives.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also made several important announcements for regional development and expansion of public facilities. He announced canal expansion works worth Rs. 50 crore under the Kshirpani Medium Irrigation Project. The project is expected to expand irrigation facilities across nearly 1,100 hectares of agricultural land, providing significant benefits to farmers.

The Chief Minister also announced approval of Rs. 50 lakh for the development and beautification of Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham. In addition, he announced the upgradation of the approximately 2.5-kilometre road from Kharhatta to Dongariya village, stating that the project would make transportation “more convenient, accessible and efficient” for local residents and devotees.

It is noteworthy that Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham, located in Dongariya village of Kabirdham district, is widely revered among local devotees as a sacred pilgrimage site. According to local belief, the Shivling at the temple emerged naturally. Surrounded by natural beauty, the temple becomes a major centre of devotion during the holy month of Shravan, on Shravan Mondays, and on Mahashivratri. Nestled amidst picturesque hills and riverbanks, the dham is recognised for its atmosphere of “spiritual energy, devotion and cultural harmony.”

Raipur, May 10, 2026/ The state government is running the centrally sponsored PM Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan for the families of special backward tribes. Under this, more than 33 thousand houses have been approved after conducting a survey in the state so far, out of which about 21 thousand houses have also been completed. For those beneficiaries who were left out earlier, the state government has made a special request to the Government of India and obtained special permission and their re-survey work is going on, which will be completed in a day or two. As soon as the survey is completed, houses will be immediately approved to the eligible beneficiaries.

Regarding a viral video on social media, District Panchayat CEO Mr. Prakhar Chandrakar clarified that during the Samadhan Camp, a beneficiary from a family of a Special Backward Tribe (SBC) came to the camp with his application. His family had not previously resided in Chhattisgarh; they were living in Odisha. Consequently, their family was not included in the housing survey lists of 2011 and 2018. During the recent 2024 survey conducted by the Chhattisgarh government, the family was not residing in the village. They were then residing in Odisha and had only recently returned to Chhattisgarh. After their return, their family's survey under the PM Janman Yojana (PMJAY) has been completed, and housing will be approved soon.

He explained that eligible beneficiaries in the district are being provided the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) as per the rules. Under the PM Janman Yojana, due to the Special Backward Tribes residing in different settlements within the district, repeated surveys have been conducted to connect beneficiaries. For such families whose survey was not done earlier, the survey for such remaining eligible families has been completed and a list has been prepared and approval from the Government of India is awaited.

The district administration is continuously working to provide the benefits of the scheme to all eligible families as per the rules. He told that due to being in Orissa, the ration card and other necessary documents of the said family were also incomplete, which the officials showed promptness and got the work done in the Samadhan camp itself. Where their ration card and MNREGA job card were made immediately and the process for Ayushman card has also been started. Along with this, they were assured that the government administration is with you at every step.

Raipur / Under the state-wide Good Governance Festival 2026, Mungeli district witnessed a historic chapter of development, public welfare and good governance today. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while attending the district-level public problem resolution camp organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in the district headquarters, gifted 414 development works worth more than Rs 353 crore 58 lakh to the district. These include the inauguration of 284 works worth more than Rs 152 crore 02 lakh and the foundation stone laying of 130 works worth more than Rs 201 crore 56 lakh. These works will provide new strength to the infrastructure, education, health, roads, drinking water and public facilities in the district.

He announced Rs 25 lakh for the installation of the statue of warrior queen Rani Durgavati on Navagarh Road, construction of post-matric hostel building in Mungeli, Rs 20 lakh for the construction of boundary wall and entrance gate in Mela Navagaon, and Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a concrete road. He also gave a positive assurance to fulfil the demand for a medical college.

Raipur, As many as 18 meritorious students from different districts of Chhattisgarh watched the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium on Sunday under a special initiative of the state government aimed at encouraging academic excellence and motivating talented students across the state. The initiative, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, seeks to recognise the achievements of students who secured positions in the Class 10 and Class 12 merit lists and inspire them to pursue their aspirations with greater confidence.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai believes that students who excel in the field of education should be provided such opportunities so that they are inspired to dream bigger and achieve greater heights. The state government is working with sensitivity and commitment towards promoting education, sports, and youth talent.

It was a great moment for the students to witness the grandeur of the international cricket stadium in Nava Raipur and the electrifying atmosphere of the IPL match. For most of them, it was the first time they had visited an international cricket stadium to watch a live match. The dazzling lights of the stadium, the enthusiasm of thousands of spectators, the energy of the players, and the vibrant atmosphere of the entire event were nothing short of a dream for the children.

Sharing his experience, Jigyasu Verma from Palari in Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara district, a student of Saraswati Shishu Mandir and topper of the Higher Secondary Examination merit list, said that watching an IPL match live for the first time at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium was an unforgettable experience. A cricket enthusiast since childhood, he thanked the Chief Minister Shri Sai and the state government, saying the initiative boosted his enthusiasm and confidence.

Similarly, Yash Khrobagadhe, a student of Swami Atmanand Government Excellent School in Kanker’s Narharpur town secured the tenth position in the Class 12 merit list, said that witnessing top international cricketers in action for the first time was a dream come true. He described the electrifying atmosphere and enthusiasm among spectators as a memorable experience, and said the initiative by Shri Vishnu Deo Sai would inspire students to work harder and pursue their goals with confidence.

Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has consistently emphasised the importance of recognising talent and creating better opportunities for youth in education, sports, technology and innovation. Raipur. State's Industry, Public Enterprises, Excise and Labour Minister Shri Lakhanlal Devangan yesterday gave strict instructions to the officials of Municipal Corporation Korba and said that the ongoing development works in the wards of the corporation area should be completed within the time limit and the works which have not been started yet should be started soon. He said that action should be taken against the construction agencies which delay in starting the construction works and stop the work midway after starting it, notice should be given and if the work is still not started then the security amount should be confiscated and action should also be taken to blacklist such construction agencies. Industry Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan issued these instructions to officials during a development review meeting. Minister Dewangan held a meeting with officials and ward councilors from the Darri Zone and Sarvamangalanagar Zone of the Korba Municipal Corporation and reviewed development projects in the 20 wards of these zones, ward-wise. Mayor Sanjudevi Rajput, Commissioner Ashutosh Pandey, Chairman Nutan Singh Thakur, and Senior Councilor Narendra Dewangan were also present. Currently, a total of 166 approved works have been approved in the Darri Zone and Sarvamangalanagar Zone. Of the 112 approved works in the 14 wards of the Darri Zone, 45 have been completed, 45 are in progress, and 22 are pending. Similarly, of the 54 approved development works in the six wards of the Sarvamangalanagar Zone, 28 are completed, 14 are in progress, and 12 are pending. Raipur. The Gyan Bharatam National Manuscript Survey Campaign, run by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has achieved a historic milestone in Chhattisgarh's Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Centuries-old rare manuscripts and documents have been discovered in the old settlement of Pendra town, and they have now been digitally preserved for future preservation.

The survey team recovered invaluable treasures from two key locations
in Ward No. 4 of Pendra. Several religious texts, including a 500-year-old handwritten version of the Bhagavad Gita, were found at the residence of Pandit Mohan Dutt Sharma. These manuscripts were a highlight, and Collector Dr. Santosh Kumar Dewangan bowed to them with reverence. During the survey, a nearly 200-year-old handwritten zamindari genealogy and historical maps related to the revenue and forest departments of the Pendragarh region were also recovered from the residence of District Panchayat Vice President Raja Upendra Bahadur Singh. These documents were also preserved through digital technology. The Collector discussed in detail with Raja Upendra Bahadur Singh and his wife, Mrs. Shikha Singh, regarding family history, zamindari traditions, and historical treasures. The language, writing style and state of preservation of these texts reflect the rich tradition of ancient Indian learning, Sanskrit literature and religious studies.

Offers prayers at Jagannath Temple for prosperity and well-being of people

Raipur, May 10, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday attended the Harinam Sankirtan Namyagya organized at Shri Jagannath Temple in Gayatri Nagar area of Raipur.
