Raipur,Guided by the motto “Humne Banayan Hai, Hum Hi Sawareinge,” the Chhattisgarh Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is rapidly fulfilling the commitment made during its first Cabinet meeting. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), more than 10.60 lakh rural houses have been completed across the state during the last two and a half years.

During the financial year 2025–26, Chhattisgarh completed more than 6 lakh houses, the highest number in the country. The state also ranks first nationally in the number of households completed daily. At present, more than 1,600 houses are being completed every day, reflecting the speed and scale of the housing mission.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai pledged to provide housing for low-income families during the very first Cabinet meeting held a day after assuming office. The state government has been working with determination and urgency to fulfil this commitment.

The government had resolved to construct 18,12,742 houses, including 2,46,215 incomplete houses, 6,33,438 houses from the 2011 permanent waiting list, 8,19,999 houses under the Awas Plus list, and 47,090 houses under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana – Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana.

Along with these houses, the government is also constructing 33,601 houses under the PM JANMAN Yojana in tribal and forest regions and 15,000 additional houses under a special project for Naxal-affected areas. The Panchayat and Rural Development Department has also conducted surveys under Awas Plus 2.0–2024 to identify low-income families living in kutcha houses, and the process of providing housing benefits to these eligible households is progressing rapidly.
To accelerate implementation and turn the dream of permanent housing into reality for low-income families, the government has made Rs. 26,908 crore available for housing construction.

The Panchayat and Rural Development Department not only addressed incomplete houses inherited from the previous government but also approved and completed a large number of new houses for eligible beneficiaries in a mission mode. The pace of implementation is reflected in the fact that between April and October 2025, nearly 2,000 houses were completed every day across the state. Even now, approximately 1,600 houses are being completed daily, making Chhattisgarh the leading state in the country in daily PMAY-G house completions.

To strengthen this ambitious mission and ensure its effective implementation, the state government has actively involved women’s self-help groups. Women associated with these groups are contributing as “Dealer Didis” and “Rani Mistris,” playing a vital role in housing construction activities. Thousands of women have achieved economic empowerment and emerged as “Lakhpati Didis” through their participation in the programme.

The establishment of Atal Digital Suvidha Kendra in villages has further supported the initiative by making small financial transactions easily accessible at the local level. These centres have significantly contributed to the smooth execution of housing construction and service delivery in rural areas.

Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the felicitation ceremony of documentary filmmakers, artists and talented personalities from various fields organized under the joint aegis of the Culture Department and Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation in the capital Raipur.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that films are not just a medium of entertainment, but a powerful medium that guides society's thinking, culture, and sensibilities. A good film creates awareness in society and paves the way for positive change. Indian cinema has played a vital role in social change from time to time. He said that films like Mother India have strengthened moral values, sacrifice, and self-respect in Indian society.

The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarhi cinema has a glorious history. The first Chhattisgarhi film, "Kahi Debe Sandesh," delivered a meaningful message against social evils. Today, Chhaliwood films are breaking new ground in entertainment and commercial success. He added that the expansion of digital and OTT platforms has expanded film access to every segment of society, making it crucial to promote responsible, positive, and value-based cinema.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is continuously striving to give a new identity to the Chhattisgarhi film industry and provide opportunities to local talent. To this end, the Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation has been reactivated. He added that in January of this year, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chitrotpala Film City and Tribal and Cultural Convention Center, to be built at a cost of ₹150 crore, was held. This project will boost film production activities in the state, provide employment opportunities to thousands of artists, technicians, and workers, and give a new impetus to film tourism.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister announced that NHM employees would be paid their salaries for the 33-day strike period. Describing NHM employees as the "backbone" of health services, he said they play a vital role in providing health services even in remote and inaccessible areas of the state. Shri Sai stated that the contribution of NHM employees in building a healthy Chhattisgarh is incomparable and the government respects their work.
Recalling the role played by health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister said that when the entire world was in crisis, NHM officers and employees remained engaged in serving the people without caring for their lives. He said that during those difficult times, health workers set an example of humanity that can never be forgotten. He said that even today, in areas of the state lacking roads and transportation facilities, health workers are walking and crossing rivers and streams to provide health services to people. Referring specifically to the "Chief Minister's Healthy Bastar Campaign" being implemented in the Bastar region, the Chief Minister stated that health department teams are reaching out to every village to conduct health checkups, and that approximately 90 percent of the population has been screened so far.

Shri Jaiswal stated that maternal and infant mortality rates have steadily declined in the state, and the recruitment process for nurses is underway. To reduce infant and maternal mortality, locations have been selected for 116 new specialized health centers.

New Delhi. Inflationary pressures appear to be rising again in the country. Retail inflation rose to 3.93 percent in May, up from 3.48 percent in April. For the first time in five months, retail inflation has risen.

Inflation has approached the Reserve Bank of India's target of 4 percent. The main reasons for this increase are believed to be rising food and transportation costs.

According to the data, retail inflation was 2.74 percent at the beginning of 2026, and steadily increased to 3.93 percent in May. Inflation increased by 0.45 percent in May compared to April, marking the fastest monthly increase in the past 16 months.

Meanwhile, gold and silver prices also saw a significant increase. On June 12, silver prices rose by ₹9,991 in a single day to reach ₹2.43 lakh per kilogram. Meanwhile, 24-carat gold rose by ₹3,018 to reach ₹1.48 lakh per 10 grams.

The government has also issued new orders regarding fuel sales. Consumers will now be limited to a maximum of 200 liters of diesel per day. Furthermore, factories and large commercial consumers will not be allowed to purchase diesel from retail petrol pumps.

They will have to use bulk sale points for their fuel needs. This arrangement has been implemented for an initial period of 90 days.

The government has taken this step in response to unusually high sales at petrol pumps in some areas. Officials say this will help maintain fuel availability for ordinary consumers.

Meanwhile, food safety measures have also intensified. Following complaints of insects found in some Maggi packets, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has sought a response from the company and ordered the withdrawal of the affected batch from the market.

Kawardha. The Baiga tribal community has leveled serious allegations against Abhinav Raijada, the excise officer posted in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha district. Representatives of the community say that poor villagers from the Baiga community, considered the President's adopted sons, are being implicated in false excise cases. It is alleged that cases involving mahua liquor are being filed by showing more liquor than the actual quantity, and money is being demanded from the villagers in the name of action.

The victim, Sagni Baiga, alleged that she had three or four bottles of mahua liquor in her house, but during the investigation, the amount was increased to 15 or 16 bottles. She said, "I was made to sign a blank paper. Since then, my husband has been missing and is untraceable."

Similarly, Sarottin Baiga alleged that 10 to 12 bottles of liquor kept in her house were shown as 40 to 45 during the investigation. She claimed that she was charged 25,000 rupees in exchange for protection from the case, but even after this, her husband was not released.

Representatives of the Baiga community allege that cases are being filed arbitrarily against many villagers in connection with mahua liquor. They say that in some cases, villagers were first made to sign blank papers, and then serious cases were fabricated based on those documents.

Kamu Baiga, district president of the Tribal Development Council, alleged that some officers of the Excise Department are constantly harassing the Baiga community. He said that villagers are being asked for sums ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 rupees in the name of avoiding action or reducing fines.

The community submitted a memorandum demanding the suspension of the concerned officials, an impartial, high-level investigation into the entire matter, and departmental and legal action if the allegations are found to be true. The Baiga community says that many poor families are facing financial and mental hardship due to the alleged action. They have appealed to the administration for swift justice.

Administrative staff swung into action as soon as the fire was reported. BJP state president and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singh Deo also arrived at the scene and took stock of the fire situation.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit. It is suspected that a fault in the transformer or electrical wiring caused a spark, which ignited bleaching powder and other flammable materials stored in the premises. The fire quickly spread, and smoke spread throughout the complex.

Upon receiving information about the incident, several fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and began a firefighting operation. Municipal teams and administrative officials also arrived at the scene and began relief and rescue operations. For safety reasons, the power supply to the surrounding area was immediately cut off to prevent a major accident.

Raipur. Based on a complaint received on the Chief Minister's Helpline 1076, the administration has taken major action against the illegal sand trade in Raipur district. A joint team of the Mineral and Revenue Departments conducted an investigation in several areas of the Arang development block and uncovered large-scale illegal sand storage.

During the operation, inspections were conducted in the Samoda, Kurud, Mohmela, and Kutela areas. A large amount of sand was found stored without permission on government land in the proposed pond area along the Kutela-Chikhli main road. According to the investigation team, approximately 90 tractors and 80 trucks carrying illegally stored sand were found at the site, and they were seized.

The administration completed the seizure in the presence of village council representatives and villagers. Furthermore, the ramp leading to the illegal sand storage site was cut and closed using a JCB machine to prevent such activities from occurring in the future.

During the operation, three vehicles used for illegal sand transportation and storage were also seized. The seized vehicles have been handed over to the Arang police station. A notice has been issued to the concerned storage owner, directing him to submit a response.

According to the administration, this action was taken based on complaints received during Good Governance Festival 2026 and cases registered with the Chief Minister's Helpline. Action is being taken against illegal sand mining, transportation, and storage under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

The action team included Assistant Mineral Officer Umesh Bhargava, Deputy Tehsildar Gajanand Sidar, and officials and employees from the Mineral and Revenue departments. The administration has clarified that the campaign against illegal mining and the mineral mafia in the district will continue. Officials said such actions will be taken continuously to prevent the illegal exploitation of natural resources.

Raipur. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, remarkable work is being done in the field of water conservation and groundwater enrichment in Jashpur district. In this regard, the Neemgaon Gram Panchayat of Jashpur development block has emerged as an inspiring model due to its innovative water conservation initiative. Through MNREGA and public participation, various structures have been constructed here for rainwater harvesting and conservation of natural resources, which are increasing water availability and strengthening rural livelihoods.

Under the leadership of Nagendra Bhagat, Sarpanch of Neemgaon Gram Panchayat, water conservation has become a mass movement in the village. The Gram Panchayat has constructed a total of 2,587 contour trenches so far. These structures, built in hilly and sloping areas, aim to control the flow of rainwater and infuse it into the ground. This has not only prevented soil erosion but is also improving groundwater levels.

Sarpanch Nagendra Bhagat explained that rainwater collects in the contour trench and slowly seeps into the ground, promoting water conservation. Furthermore, under the 5% model, special structures have been developed along the edges of fields in the village, where rainwater is collected and helps maintain moisture in the fields. This is benefiting farmers in improved crop growth and production. To promote sanitation and water management in the village, approximately 30 soak pits have also been constructed around hand pumps. These structures ensure safe disposal of used water and recharge of groundwater. This has not only reduced the problem of waterlogging but also promoted environmental protection.

The ponds constructed in Neemgaon have also emerged as an effective means of water conservation. Rainwater is collected in them, providing farmers with an additional source of water for irrigation. Remarkably, even during the scorching summer, many ponds are filled to the brim with water, demonstrating the utility and effectiveness of these structures. These water conservation efforts are not only improving groundwater levels but also strengthening agricultural production, environmental protection, and rural livelihoods. This initiative in Neemgaon is emerging as a successful model for a sustainable solution to the water crisis, one that can be replicated in other gram panchayats.

Raipur. With the continuous efforts of the Minister of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade, an approval of 4 crore 94 lakh 13 thousand rupees has been granted for the renovation work of the Brijeshwar Sagar Reservoir Scheme located in Bikash Khand Bhaiyathan of Surajpur District. Through this important project, the irrigation system of the area will be strengthened and better agricultural facilities will be available to the farmers.

Upon completion of this work approved by the Water Resources Department, 464 hectares of agricultural land will benefit from irrigation facilities. Due to this, enough water will be available for timely irrigation of the farmers, the agricultural production will increase and the agricultural economy of the region will be strengthened.
Minister Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade said that the state government is paying special attention to the development of irrigation resources while giving highest priority to the interests of farmers. Renovation of Brijeshwar Sagar Reservoir will provide long-term benefits to the farmers of Bhaiyathan area and farming will become more profitable. Administrative approval has been issued to the Chief Engineer, Hasdev Ganga Cachar Water Resources Department, Ambikapur for the implementation of the scheme. This project will prove to be an important step in the direction of water conservation and agricultural development in the region.

New Delhi. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Press Information Bureau (PIB) have clarified the claim currently circulating on social media regarding plastic currency. A viral video claimed that paper currency would be phased out in India by June 30, 2026, and plastic notes would be issued, gradually eliminating old currency.

The video also claimed that Rs 100, 50, 20 and 10 notes would be exchanged, and the alleged voice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also used.

However, the government has clarified that these claims are completely misleading and false. According to PIB Fact Check, the RBI has clarified that there are currently no plans to phase out paper notes or replace them with plastic currency.

The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon may arrive in parts of Chhattisgarh within the next three to four days. Starting June 11th, most districts in the state may experience increased thunderstorm activity, light to moderate rain, and strong winds. According to experts, the increased monsoon activity is expected to bring a drop in temperatures, providing relief from the intense heat and humidity. Vice President Mr. Mishra directed UNDP to prepare employment oriented training project for rural youth.

Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Mr. Ganesh Shankar Mishra, Vice Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Policy Commission, said that the biggest challenges facing the state today include unemployment among rural youth, mobile phone addiction, growing drug addiction, health problems, and increasing criminal activity. These challenges can only be addressed through job creation and skill development.

Addressing the induction program for SSM PIU and M&E units held at the Chhattisgarh State NITI Aayog in Nava Raipur, Mr. Mishra said that today there are a large number of youth in villages who do not want to join farming, but they also do not have adequate employment opportunities. In such a situation, the state government's goal is to connect youth aged 15 to 29 with skill development programs and provide them with employment and self-employment opportunities.

Vice President G.S. Mishra stated that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)'s largest team to date is working in Chhattisgarh, and a concrete action plan will be developed within the next six months to enhance youth skills and create employment. He directed UNDP experts to develop a comprehensive project to provide training in plumbers, gardeners, carpenters, electricians, TV mechanics, mobile repairers, and other employment-oriented occupations tailored to the needs of rural youth.

Mr. Mishra stated that training programs will not be limited to skills alone, but rather a model will be developed that will provide immediate employment opportunities to youth who complete the training. To this end, special employment programs will be organized in each district in collaboration with industries, private institutions, and civil society organizations, where trained youth will be provided with appointment letters. He stated that the state government's objective is to empower youth and connect them with respectable livelihoods. This will not only reduce the unemployment rate, but also strengthen the economic status of youth, overcome social challenges, and provide new impetus to the state's overall development.

During his four-day visit to Bastar, Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Arun Sao visited Kamli village to see the work of the Jal Jeevan Mission. In Kamli village, Duganpal, Tokapal development block, Bastar district, he also visited a few other homes to see water coming from the taps. The joy of having water in their homes through the Jal Jeevan Mission was evident on the faces of all the women.

Jal Jeevan Mission is bringing about a profound change in the lives of women in remote villages and forest areas. A significant portion of the population previously struggled daily to access drinking water, especially during the summer, when the journey with a pot of water on their heads would stretch from a few hundred meters to several kilometers.

The provision of water, an essential necessity for life, used to make life difficult for women in summer. In Duganpal too, women had to go to the village hand pump or well every day to arrange water for everyone in the house. Now, with the installation of taps in the houses, this problem has been resolved. As the work of Jal Jeevan Mission is getting completed, the worries and troubles of women about bringing water from outside are getting resolved. So far, more than eight and a half thousand schemes have been completed in Chhattisgarh and handed over to the Panchayats for operation.

Jal Jeevan Mission is not just a scheme to provide drinking water to every household. It is also bringing about a profound change in the daily routine and lives of women. In villages, women have traditionally been responsible for providing drinking water and other household needs. Without access to water at home, they must collect water daily for the entire family from hand pumps, public taps, wells, or other sources.

This laborious and time-consuming daily task becomes even more difficult during the rainy season and the scorching heat. In many areas, water sources dry up in the summer, forcing people to fetch water from long distances. Providing water for their families becomes a daily struggle. Women spend many hours of their day engaged in this task.

The Jal Jeevan Mission, by providing tap water to every household, is relieving women of many problems. Access to clean and safe drinking water has relieved them of many worries. They no longer have to expend significant time and effort daily searching for water. This gives them more time to devote to other household chores, such as raising children, farming, and other livelihood activities, enabling them to devote more time and attention to these tasks.

The Jal Jeevan Mission's 24-month water supply at home eliminates the hassle of fetching water during the summer and the constant rains during the summer. Water quality is affected by the water table dropping in the summer and the continuous rains during the monsoon. Poor quality drinking water poses a risk of stomach ailments, and the use of contaminated water for sanitation poses a risk of skin diseases. The Jal Jeevan Mission has also eliminated these health risks.

Emphasis on departmental coordination, data-driven policy making and effective implementation to achieve the goals of Anjor Vision-2047

Innovative efforts will be made to make Bastar the most developed tribal division of the country through Bastar Anjor.

Raipur, Chhattisgarh State Policy Commission Vice Chairman Shri Ganesh Shankar Mishra said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is committed to establishing Chhattisgarh at the forefront of developed states through "Anjor Vision-2047." He said that building a developed Chhattisgarh will be possible not only through the formulation of plans, but also through better coordination between departments, policy making based on accurate data and a result-oriented work culture.

Addressing the induction programme of State Support Mission (SSM), Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) units organised at Chhattisgarh State NITI Aayog, Nava Raipur, Shri Mishra said that "Anjor Vision-2047" prepared by the State NITI Aayog is a comprehensive roadmap for the long-term development of the state, in which clear goals related to economic development, good governance, social progress, investment promotion and human development have been set.

He stated that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Anjor Vision 2047 complement each other, and the fundamental objective of both is to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person. To achieve the goal of becoming a developed state by 2047, all departments must implement their plans and programs in accordance with these goals. The SSM, PIU, and M&E units established under the State Policy Commission will play a crucial role in this direction.

Mr. Mishra stated that Chhattisgarh has made significant progress in the NITI Aayog's SDG India Index 2023-24. The state's goal now is not limited to improving the indices, but to bring positive and lasting change to the living standards of every citizen. Citing targets set in sectors such as agriculture, health, education, industry, women's empowerment, skill development, and technology, he said, "Our priority is to make Chhattisgarh a national leader in agricultural productivity, industrial development, female labor force participation, the digital economy, and employment generation."

He said that the expert teams working with the State Policy Commission should coordinate with departments to accelerate the pace of development through KPI-based reviews, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and evidence-based recommendations. He called on officials and experts to adopt innovative, accountable, and results-oriented approaches.

Vice President Shri Mishra expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of the State Government, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and State Policy Commission, the goals of Anjor Vision-2047 will be achieved within the stipulated time period and Chhattisgarh will establish a new identity as an inclusive, sustainable and developed state.

He said that March 31, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the state's history, when Chhattisgarh became free from Naxalism. He cited Union Home Minister Amit Shah's pledge to make Bastar the most developed tribal division in the country. Mishra stated that the Bastar division is among the state government's top priorities, and the "Bastar Anjor" initiative will achieve holistic development in the region through seven key innovations. This will empower Bastar to establish a new identity in the fields of development, good governance, education, health, employment, and infrastructure.

During this, Member Secretary of State Policy Commission, Mr. Ashish Kumar Bhatt, Member Dr. K. Subrahmanyam and experts from various fields of UNDP were present.

Chief Minister Expresses Gratitude for Centre’s Support in Chhattisgarh’s Development Through a Letter to the Prime Minister

CM Appreciates Central Government’s Role in Naxal Eradication, Infrastructure Development, and Empowerment of Farmers, Tribals, Women and Youth

Raipur,Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai extended his congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the completion of 12 years of his leadership at the Centre. In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, he expressed gratitude for the unprecedented support extended by the Central Government towards the development of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the visionary, decisive, and welfare-oriented leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has accelerated development in Chhattisgarh and played a significant role in ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society.

In his letter, the Chief Minister mentioned that under the Central Government’s policy of prioritising security and development in Naxal-affected areas, Chhattisgarh has received Rs. 2,080.29 crore under the Special Central Assistance (SCA) Scheme. He noted that initiatives such as the Special Infrastructure Scheme (SIS), Security Related Expenditure (SRE), modern weapon systems, jungle warfare training and air support have strengthened security forces and provided the state with a decisive advantage in the fight against Left Wing Extremism.

The Chief Minister stated that the Union Ministry of Rural Development has approved 391 roads covering 3,222 kilometres and 88 major bridges in Naxal-affected regions at a cost of Rs. 2,377 crore. These projects have strengthened both development and security while connecting remote areas, including Bastar, with the mainstream.

Highlighting financial reforms under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the Chief Minister said that increasing the state’s share in central taxes from 32 per cent to 42 per cent has provided Chhattisgarh with unprecedented fiscal autonomy. He informed that over the past 12 years, the state has received Rs. 3,46,806 crore through central tax devolution and Rs. 1,43,328 crore under various central schemes. In addition, Chhattisgarh received Rs. 22,021 crore under the Special Assistance for Capital Investment Scheme and Rs. 22,600 crore as GST compensation.

Describing road infrastructure development as one of the major achievements of the Central Government, Shri Sai said that approvals worth Rs. 4,468 crore were granted under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). In comparison, Rs. 35,766 crore was sanctioned for National Highway development. These investments have accelerated projects such as the Raipur–Visakhapatnam corridor, Bilaspur–Dhanbad connectivity, the Raipur–Durg Bypass and several other strategic road projects, significantly improving connectivity across the state.

In the rural development sector, the Chief Minister stated that 24.50 lakh eligible beneficiaries have been sanctioned houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), of which nearly 19.70 lakh houses have already been completed. Under MGNREGA, an expenditure of Rs. 39,123 crore over the past 12 years generated 152 crore person-days of employment. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), Rs. 2,398 crore in assistance enabled the construction of toilets for 36.44 lakh families.
