Following a court order in Bilaspur, property worth ₹1.50 crore belonging to three marijuana smugglers has been frozen. The accused had purchased houses and plots with the illegal proceeds from selling marijuana. An investigation has also revealed that one of the accused had built a luxurious house and purchased land in the names of his wife and girlfriend.

The case is from the Sakri police station area. The SAFEMA court in Mumbai has also deemed the seized property of marijuana smugglers illegal. Police seized the properties of three accused following NDPS operations in the Sakri and Sirgitti police station areas.

After hearing both parties, the court found the assets were acquired through illegal drug dealing, and ordered the freezing of assets totaling over 1.50 crore rupees in both cases.

Luxurious houses built with the money from the illegal drug trade

The police seized property in two cases under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act and sent the case to the SAFEMA court. The property of Ajay Chakraborty, an accused in the Sirgitti police station area of ​​smuggling and selling marijuana, was seized. He had built two luxurious houses worth 1.20 crore rupees from the illegal drug trade.

Meanwhile, Sakri police seized a house worth 15 lakh rupees and a plot worth 21 lakh rupees belonging to Kranti Pandey, who sold marijuana from Chorbhatti, and Deepak Ganda, a marijuana supplier. Both cases were sent to the Mumbai Safema Court. The court has ordered the freezing of two houses and a plot worth 1.50 crore rupees belonging to the three smugglers.

Sellers and smugglers were caught giving and taking marijuana.

Sakri police arrested marijuana dealer Kanti Pandey, a resident of Chorbhatti Khurd, and supplier Deepak Ganda during a transaction. Ganja was recovered from the woman and cash from the supplier.

Following the investigation, police discovered a house worth 15 lakh rupees and a plot worth 21 lakh rupees. Deepak was also found to have received 2.5 lakh rupees in cash from the marijuana supply.

Chakraborty had purchased property in the name of his wife and girlfriend.

Sirgitti police arrested Ajay Chakraborty, a local marijuana dealer, for transporting marijuana. He also had NDPS charges registered against him in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

During the investigation of the property, the police had seized property worth Rs 1.20 crore in the name of the wife and girlfriend in Sirgitti Awas Para and Tikrapara and sent it to SAFEMA.

SSP gave cash reward to both the investigators.

Both cases were investigated by ASI Surendra Tiwari of Sakri police station and Havildar Prabhakar Singh of Sirgitti police station. Due to their excellent and accurate investigations in both cases, SAFEMA has deemed the entire police action valid. The SSP has awarded both investigators a cash reward of ₹500 each for their excellent investigations.

So far, property worth Rs 7.50 crore of 20 accused in 7 cases has been seized.

Bilaspur police have so far seized the property of 20 accused in seven cases related to the trafficking and smuggling of marijuana and narcotics in the district. Based on evidence presented to the SAFEMA court in all these cases, the property was found to be the proceeds of the illegal drug trade.

The court has so far seized property worth ₹7.50 crore (approximately $1.5 billion). Bilaspur leads the nation in terms of property seizures.
