Now, major Naxalite leaders are surrendering… 8 Naxalites, including Azad, surrendered with their weapons
Jagdalpur: The force is working to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026 across the country, including Chhattisgarh. Scared by this, Naxalites are giving up their weapons and joining the mainstream of society. In this sequence, big Naxalite leaders working in the organization are also surrendering rapidly. Meanwhile, in Telangana, Chhattisgarh's neighboring state, two top Maoist leaders active in the Telangana State Committee, along with 8 other Naxalites, have laid down their arms. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding their surrender.
According to reports, all these Naxalites secretly surrendered two days ago, and an official announcement is expected on Monday. The most prominent among those who surrendered is Koyyadi Sambayya, alias Azad, the BKSR division committee secretary. Azad had been a key strategic figure in the Maoist organization for decades. Abbas Narayan, alias Ramesh, the technical team in-charge, also surrendered. Ramesh had been active in the Ramagundam area for a long time.
The internal conflict and differences between Azad and Damodar, a prominent Naxalite leader in the Telangana State Committee, are also believed to be a major reason for this surrender. Azad hails from Moddulagudem village in Mulugu district and held a strong hold within the State Committee. If officially confirmed, this surrender would be considered a major blow to the Maoist network operating in the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border region.
