Raipur. The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education has begun preparations for the board exams. To this end, it has written to district education officers across the state, issuing necessary guidelines regarding examination centers. Examination centers will be set up within a five-kilometer radius. If a school is two or three stories tall, exam centers for 10th-12th grade students will be set up on the ground floor. Instructions have been given to strictly follow these rules.

The Board of Secondary Education has sought information from the District Education Officers across the state regarding resources and staff for the board exams. The timing of the board exams is in the morning, hence information has been sought about high and higher secondary schools operating in remote rural areas. Information along with statistics about the distance of these schools and the students taking the board exams will have to be provided. Keeping in mind the remote schools and the board exams being held in the morning, the Board has issued necessary guidelines regarding the examination centres. It has been asked to set up examination centres within a radius of five kilometres. This will ensure that children from rural areas do not face any problems in commuting during the exam time. Special attention has been asked to be paid to this.

Separate toilets for boys and girls will have to be arranged in the examination center. Information has also been sought regarding the electricity arrangements in the schools which are being made examination centers. Detailed information has been sought regarding the availability of basic necessities like number of staff, number of rooms, average seating capacity, available furniture etc. in the center. Information about the examination hall, number of rooms and seating capacity of children in it will also have to be given. During last year's board examination, information about the distance of the police station from the examination centers will also have to be given.

Following the directive from the Board of Secondary Education (BSHE), a series of meetings is underway across the state. In this connection, the District Education Officer (DEO) is holding a meeting with principals in Bilaspur today. Following the meeting, necessary information will be sent to the Board of Secondary Education. Proposals for new examination centers have also been sought. Therefore, during the meeting, new examination centers will be discussed, and proposals will be submitted as needed.
