Severe cold wave... Temperature close to freezing point in Surguja-Balrampur... Weather department issues alert!
Ditwa Storm Effect Chhattisgarh : The cold wave continues to intensify in Chhattisgarh. Over the past 24 hours, the weather remained completely dry in many parts of the state, but temperatures dropped sharply. Night temperatures dropped by up to 2 degrees Celsius, leaving people facing severe cold. Shivering has increased, especially in the northern districts of the state.
The situation is even worse in many high-altitude areas of Surguja and Balrampur districts. Temperatures dropped so low that many places froze. Early in the morning, dewdrops on fields, leaves, and vehicles were seen turning to ice, making the impact of the cold even more felt by villagers. Locals say the cold is arriving earlier this year than in previous years.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning that the cold will intensify further. Due to the Ditwa Storm, cold winds blowing from North India are directly affecting the temperature in Chhattisgarh. Minimum temperatures may drop further in the next few days, leading to cold wave-like conditions.
Health experts say that the sudden drop in temperature may increase complaints of colds, coughs, fevers, and joint pain. Therefore, people are being advised to wear blankets, sweaters, and warm clothing at night, cover up thoroughly before venturing out in cold weather, and drink warm beverages.
