Transparent and easy paddy procurement system boosted the confidence of farmers
Accurate weighing, timely payment and micro ATM facility provide great relief to farmers
Mungeli. With an aim to provide better and transparent procurement system to farmers, paddy procurement is going on in a well-organized, fair and completely farmer-friendly environment in Mungeli district under Kharif marketing year 2025-26. Paddy is being procured at the support price as per the prescribed time-table in 105 procurement centers of 66 primary committees of the district, in which all necessary facilities have been made available keeping the interests of farmers paramount.
Token system, high quality checks, electronic weighing machines, drinking water, shade, adequate seating arrangements and security arrangements have been ensured at all procurement centres, so that farmers are getting the benefit of a queue-free, smooth and transparent process without long waits. Along with the purchase of paddy, micro ATM service has been made available at the procurement centres, where farmers are getting their money immediately through ATM card or cheque book, which has ensured speed and transparency in payments.Mr. Bharat Purle, a farmer from Kapuwa village, who came to sell paddy at the Geedha procurement center, reported that he had sold over 66 quintals of paddy this year. He praised the procurement process, saying that this year's procurement center system is more transparent and streamlined than before. Selling paddy at the procurement center is convenient and easy. The token system has eliminated the hassle of standing in lines. Electronic weighing machines ensure accurate and fair weighing. The payment process has also become much faster and smoother than before. Withdrawing money from the micro ATMs installed at the committees is hassle-free. He further explained that the procurement of 21 quintals per acre and the support price of 3100 rupees per quintal has provided a strong financial base for farmers. Furthermore, the procurement process has improved further due to the faster paddy lifting process.
