Golden legacy of tribal pride: Chief Minister Sai Vishnu Dev Sai unveiled the statue of Gaindsingh Nayak….

Raipur: The history of tribal society in Chhattisgarh is not only rich but also incredibly inspiring. This history holds an invaluable legacy of courage, sacrifice, self-respect, and a philosophy of life in harmony with nature. This heritage teaches us to be proud of our roots, stand firmly against injustice, and forge new paths for development. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the program organized by the All India Halba-Halbi Mahasabha to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda in Godalwahi, Rajnandgaon district.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai unveiled the statue of Martyr Shiromani Gaind Singh Nayak and paid tribute to him on the occasion. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Member of Parliament Shri Santosh Pandey were specially present at the event.

In the programme, Chief Minister Shri Sai inaugurated the Higher Secondary School building constructed at a cost of Rs 1.21 crore and a 50-seater pre-matric hostel building constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore 52 lakh 97 thousand. He announced widening of the road from Godalwahi to village Umarwahi and from Umarwahi to Karamri, establishment of a new college in Godalwahi and construction of boundary wall and Atal Samrasta Bhawan in the school premises. On this occasion, rights letters were distributed to the beneficiaries under the Swamitva Yojana and gas connections were distributed to women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

Chief Minister Sai said that under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Naxalite den has been attacked. Naxalism is now breathing its last. In the last two years, due to the double engine government, development work has gained momentum in Naxal-affected areas. He said that we are moving forward rapidly in accordance with the goal of eliminating Naxalism from the country by March 2026. Work is being done for the rehabilitation of surrendered Naxalites. Through the Niyyad Nella Nar scheme, more than 400 villages are being connected with education, health, roads, electricity, water, infrastructure and development works.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated a grand digital museum dedicated to the great heroes and freedom fighters of the tribal community on State Foundation Day. This digital museum illustrates 14 major rebellions led by the tribal community against the British. He urged everyone to visit Raipur and visit the museum.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, who holds the highest office in the country, the presidency, belongs to the tribal community. He said that former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee created the state of Chhattisgarh for the development of the tribal community and the region, and today Chhattisgarh is rapidly developing. He built paved roads to every village through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and established the Ministry of Tribal Welfare for the development of the tribal community.

The Chief Minister stated that every effort is being made to advance the tribal community. Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, 7 million women are receiving monthly assistance of ₹1,000. The tendu leaf collection fee has been increased from ₹4,000 to ₹5,500 per bag. Tendu leaf collection is benefiting 1.3 million families. 38,000 elderly beneficiaries have benefited under the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that from Paralkot, the torch of freedom was lit and the war bugle was sounded against British exploitation. In keeping with the vision of martyr Gaind Singh, an exploitation-free, self-respecting, and self-reliant tribal society is being established.

MP Shri Santosh Pandey said that the tribal community was a front-line fighter in the freedom movement. He said that Bhagwan Dharti Aba Birsa Munda and martyr Veer Narayan Singh donated their entire wealth for the community. Similarly, there are many names like Veer Gundadhur, Veer Surendra Sai, Ramadhin Gaur, Tilak Manjhi, and others who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Former Minister Mr. Mahesh Gagda and Dr. Devendra Mahala of the All India Halba-Halbi Tribal Society Chhattisgarh Mahasabha also addressed the program. Present at the event were Mr. Suresh Chandravanshi, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Farmers Welfare Board, along with numerous Panchayat representatives and a large number of social workers and villagers.
