16.50 lakh rupees aid from the Chief Minister's Special Health Assistance Scheme, saving the life of an innocent child.
Raipur. When illness becomes life-threatening and the cost of treatment is beyond a family's means, hope often begins to fade. In such a critical moment, Kritika Nishad, a girl from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, was given a new lease on life by the Chhattisgarh government's Chief Minister's Special Health Assistance Scheme.
Financial assistance of ₹165,000 was approved for the treatment of Kritika, who was suffering from a serious illness, at Fortis Hospital, Gurugram. Due to the promptness of the district administration and the prompt action of the health department, this assistance was received on time, enabling better treatment while saving the family from the burden of debt. Under this state government-run scheme, a maximum assistance of ₹25 lakh is being provided for the treatment of serious and rare diseases, which is among the highest in the country.
This scheme has become a support for those families for whom even imagining expensive treatment is impossible. According to the Health Department, complex treatments like cancer, heart disease, liver and kidney transplant can be done through this scheme. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has said that no citizen should be deprived of treatment just because of lack of money. Kritika's story has emerged as a living example of this sensitive thinking.
