Chief Minister Sai described the budget for the financial year 2026-27 as a roadmap from resolution to accomplishment.

Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has said that the budget for the financial year 2026-27 presented by the state government is a budget that will fulfil the resolve of all-round development of the state, Antyodaya and creation of a self-reliant Chhattisgarh. He said that the first budget of our government was based on the theme of "knowledge" and the second budget on "speed", whereas this year's budget has been prepared keeping the spirit of "resolve" at the centre, which will prove to be a decisive step towards developed India-developed Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this budget prioritizes inclusive development, infrastructure strengthening, investment promotion, skilled human resource development, livelihoods, Antyodaya, and a clear strategy from policy to results. This budget has been prepared keeping in mind the state's needs, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a developed India 2047.The Chief Minister stated that the government is launching five Chief Minister's Missions to operate in mission mode, including the Chief Minister's Infrastructure Mission, the Chief Minister's AI Mission, the Chief Minister's Tourism Development Mission, the Chief Minister's Startup Mission, and the Chief Minister's Sports Excellence Mission. These missions will give the state's development a new direction, a new edge, and a new momentum.He said that giving top priority to education, 13.5 percent of the total budget has been allocated for school education, which is the highest. Two education cities will be established in Abujhmad and Jagargunda of Bastar, which will provide quality education to the students of remote areas.
The Chief Minister said that provision has also been made in the budget for cashless treatment facility for government officers and employees. To accelerate industrial development, Rs 250 crore has been allocated for the establishment of 23 new industrial parks. For the development of urban areas, a provision of Rs 200 crore has been made in the Chief Minister's Ideal City Prosperity Scheme and Rs 200 crore for the Land Development Bank.
He stated that Chhattisgarh is known as the rice bowl, and agriculture is the cornerstone of the state's economy. Keeping this in mind, a provision of ₹13,500 crore has been made for the agricultural sector. The system of lump-sum payment of the difference in paddy purchases to farmers at the rate of ₹3,100 per quintal will continue, and provision for this has also been made in the budget.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the development of the Bastar and Surguja regions is the government's top priority. A provision of ₹100 crore has been made to promote food, agriculture, and related industries in these areas. Additionally, special provisions have been made to increase the income of local people by promoting activities such as goat rearing, pig farming, and beekeeping.
