Budget 2026-27 beneficial for the state, better for every section: Health Minister Jaiswal

Raipur. State Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary on the historic priority given to the health sector in Chhattisgarh's Budget 2026-27.
He said that this is the third budget of this government, which is dedicated to the social and economic development of the 3 crore people of the state. This budget has been presented with the aim of accelerating the pace of development achieved in the last two years and moving forward towards the goals of Chhattisgarh Anjor, 2047. This budget is a vision to make Chhattisgarh prosperous and happy. In his statement, the Health Minister stated that this budget will prove beneficial for the state and beneficial for every section of society. He added that as a result of the Chief Minister's visionary leadership and the Finance Minister's financial commitment, extensive resources have been provided to the Health Department, ensuring quality and accessible healthcare for the general public. He added that the budget's decision to provide cashless medical care to state government employees is historic.

Minister Jaiswal stated that the budget includes a provision of ₹1,500 crore for the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Bharat Yojana and ₹2,000 crore under the National Health Mission. Important announcements, such as the construction of district hospital buildings in Ambikapur and Dhamtari, the establishment of a 200-bed MCH in Raipur (Kalibari), and the construction of a district hospital in Chirmiri, will strengthen health infrastructure.
He stated that the establishment of GNM training centers in Durg, Kondagaon, Jashpur, and Raipur, medical colleges in Dantewada, Manendragarh, Kawardha, Janjgir-Champa, and Kunkuri, and nursing colleges in Kanker, Korba, Manendragarh, Sariya, and Mahasamund will give a new direction to medical education. The establishment of a physiotherapy college in Rajnandgaon and an advanced cardiac institute in Raipur will strengthen specialized health services. Additionally, the construction of 25 dialysis centers, 50 Jan Aushadhi centers, and more than 25 PHC, SHC, and CHC buildings will further expand access to health services in rural and remote areas. The minister also described the establishment of the State Cancer Institute in Bilaspur and the state's first homeopathy college in Raipur as historic decisions.

The Health Minister said that the provision of Rs 25 crore for infrastructure expansion at Sathya Sai Sanjivani Hospital will prove extremely beneficial for patients suffering from serious diseases.
Minister Shri Jaiswal said, "This budget is not just a document of figures, but a pledge for better health, overall development and a secure future for the people of the state. On behalf of the people of the state, I express my heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary." He expressed confidence that these provisions of Budget 2026-27 will take Chhattisgarh to new heights in the field of health services.
