Steps towards a new life: Rehabilitation policy has changed destiny and changed the picture.
Raipur : The Chhattisgarh government's humane, sensitive, and visionary rehabilitation policy is writing a new chapter of positive change in Naxal-affected areas. In accordance with Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai's vision, the Sukma District Administration is continuously taking initiatives to integrate surrendered Maoists into the mainstream of society and empower them with self-reliance.
At a program held at the Naxal Rehabilitation Center in Sukma, the district headquarters, 70 surrendered youth were distributed state-of-the-art 5G smartphones and 31 were given employment-oriented mason kits. The program was conducted under the guidance of Collector Mr. Amit Kumar, Superintendent of Police Mr. Kiran Chavan, and District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mukund Thakur. On this occasion, officials engaged in cordial interactions with the rehabilitated youth and encouraged them.
The district administration states that rehabilitation is not limited to surrender, but is a holistic effort toward self-reliance, a dignified life, and a sustainable livelihood. In keeping with this vision, 70 youth were provided with Samsung Galaxy 5G smartphones. Equipped with modern features like a 50-megapixel dual camera and a 5000 MHz fast-charging battery, these smartphones will directly connect youth to digital education, online training, skill development programs, and information about government schemes. Furthermore, providing mason kits to 31 youth has paved the way for them to gain employment and self-employment opportunities in construction, enabling them to become self-reliant.
The Collector stated that the administration's goal is not only to ensure surrender, but also to provide these young people with a respectable and secure life. Through the rehabilitation center, they are being connected to skills training, education, and employment opportunities, so they can move forward empoweredly into mainstream society.
Mr. Bhima, a resident of Pratapgiri, Tongpal, said that after nearly 15 years of involvement with the Naxalite organization, the decision to seek rehabilitation has proven to be the most important decision of his life. At the rehabilitation center, he is receiving adequate housing, food, and training, and has already received masonry training. With a smartphone, he will be able to access new information digitally.
Mr. Budhra, a resident of Singhanpara, Bade Seti, also expressed satisfaction with the arrangements at the rehabilitation center, saying that life there is safe and respectable. The administration provided him with a mobile phone and a masonry kit, as well as an Aadhaar card, Ayushman card, ration card, and job card. The district administration provides prompt resolution to any problems that arise. The Chhattisgarh government's rehabilitation policy is not merely an administrative initiative, but a powerful example of trust, development, and social harmony.
