Proper attention needs to be paid to the protection and promotion of trees – Governor Deka
Raipur, June 10, 2026/ Governor Ramen Deka was met today at Lok Bhavan by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Arun Kumar Pandey, Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sambit Mishra, Chief Conservator of Forests Raipur Circle Manivasagan S, and Raipur Forest Division DFO Loknath Patel. During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the need to pay special attention to the conservation and protection of trees planted in the city and Naya Raipur.
The Governor directed officials to ensure the safety and care of trees after planting them. He stated that tree felling should be permitted only in urgent circumstances. The Governor placed special emphasis on removing tree guards from large trees in the city and removing concrete structures built around trees where trees have been planted. He emphasized that adequate water and air must reach the roots of trees for their proper growth.
Governor Mr. Deka stated that campaigns like "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" (Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam) are being implemented extensively. Adequate attention should be paid to tree care after planting. Regular monitoring and protection of planted trees should be ensured so that they can grow and play an effective role in environmental protection. The Governor urged officials to make coordinated efforts to increase the city's green cover and increase the survival rate of planted trees.
