13 candidates from Tribal Youth Hostel crack UPSC Prelims
The increase in seats from 50 to 200 by Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has yielded positive results.

Raipur: The results of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2026 have brought a proud achievement to Chhattisgarh. Thirteen candidates, who were preparing at the Tribal Youth Hostel in Dwarka, New Delhi, have brought honor to the state by succeeding in the preliminary examination. Significantly, most of these students come from tribal, rural, and socially disadvantaged communities. Despite limited resources, they have achieved this remarkable success through their talent, hard work, and determination.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, while extending his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the successful candidates, said that this achievement is a testament to the talent, hard work, and unwavering determination of Chhattisgarh's youth. He added that the state government is continuously working to provide youth with quality education, competitive exam preparation, and better opportunities and resources for career building. The success of these young people will inspire thousands of students in the state to set and achieve big goals.
The students who have qualified in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2026 include Mr. Gautam Kumar, Mr. Kulbhushan Singh Poya, Mr. Hari Chandra Prakash Singh, Mr. Mayank Ratre, Mr. Malikram Patel, Mr. Aryan Rathore, Mr. Chetan Lal, Mr. Harish Kumar Patel, Mr. Kishan Lal Sahu, Mr. Satyanarayan Chandrakar, Ms. Diksha Diwakar, Mr. Vikesh Kurre and Mr. Prakash Patel.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in order to provide better opportunities to the deprived and talented youth of the society, the capacity of the Tribal Youth Hostel in New Delhi has been significantly increased, increasing the number of seats from 50 to 200. This decision is providing students from remote forest areas, tribal areas and rural areas of the state a better opportunity to prepare for prestigious competitive examinations including the Union Public Service Commission while staying in the national capital.
It is noteworthy that the Tribal Youth Hostel was established with the aim of providing a conducive environment for talented youth from the state's Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes to prepare for competitive examinations, including the Civil Services. Selected students are provided free accommodation, nutritious meals, study rooms, a library, excellent coaching, and regular guidance from experienced experts.
Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam said that institutions like Tribal Youth Hostels are playing a vital role in recognizing talent and providing them with proper direction. He expressed confidence that these students who passed the preliminary examination will also excel in the main examination and interview, bringing glory to Chhattisgarh in the administrative services.
Mr. Sonmani Bora, Principal Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, said that this success is a positive result of the educational opportunities and guidance provided by the state government to the youth. The success of 13 candidates in the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2026 adds another important chapter to the institution's achievements.
