Raipur Desk. Eggs and eggplants appear to be a new political weapon in West Bengal politics. This time, TMC MP Mahua Moitra came under attack, alleging that BJP supporters threw eggs and eggplants at her during an event.

Mahua Moitra claimed that the third floor of the TMC office in Kaliganj, Nadia, was repeatedly targeted. She said that BJP supporters deliberately tried to vitiate the atmosphere by throwing eggs and eggplant.

Mahua was holding a meeting with party workers on Wednesday when the incident occurred. She later shared details of the incident through a video and post on social meTR

Mahua also questioned the police's actions. She said that the police did not arrive at the scene until long after the information was given and instead of maintaining law and order, they merely watched the spectacle.

Several TMC leaders in West Bengal have faced similar protests before. Even prominent leaders like Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee have been pelted with eggs and tomatoes.

The High Court has also taken a tough stand on the matter and has asked the state government to file an affidavit by July 20, asking what steps have been taken so far to prevent such incidlis.
