Raipur, July 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha organized at the Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in the capital Raipur this evening. On this occasion, he listened with reverence to the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha being recited by Shri Devkinandan Thakur Ji Maharaj, seated on the Vyas Peetha, and performed aarti and worship of Shrimad Bhagwat Ji with due rituals and devotion.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, seated on the Vyas Peetha, received blessings from Katha Vyas Shri Devkinandan Thakur Ji Maharaj for the happiness, prosperity, peace and well-being of the people of the state. He listened attentively to the episode based on the importance of Bhagavadnaam within the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and said that such religious stories play an important role in preserving spiritual consciousness, moral values and Indian culture.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that Chhattisgarh is a state rich in spiritual, cultural, and religious perspectives. It is the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram and the maternal home of Mother Kaushalya. Lord Shri Ram spent most of his exile on the sacred land of Chhattisgarh, further enhancing the state's cultural and spiritual identity.
The Chief Minister said that Shivrinarayan is the place of penance of Mata Shabari, where the memories of the divine union of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Shabari still move the devotees. He said that the Rajim Kumbh, held annually at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Rajim, is one of the major religious events in the country. This grand event attracts saints, devotees and religious leaders from across the country, giving a new identity to the spiritual tradition and cultural splendor of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is effectively implementing various religious schemes while respecting the religious faith and spiritual sentiments of the devotees. He informed that through the Prabhu Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, devotees of Chhattisgarh are being provided darshan of Ayodhya Dham. So far, more than 50 thousand devotees have received the holy benefit of seeing Lord Shri Ram Lalla. Similarly, through the Chief Minister Tirtha Darshan Yojana, the elderly of the state are visiting various major pilgrimage sites of the country. He said that the state government is also continuously working for the conservation, promotion and overall development of the major Shaktipeeths of the state.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is fully committed to preserving social harmony, religious freedom, and Indian cultural values. He added that the Freedom of Religion Act has been enacted in Chhattisgarh to effectively curb religious conversions. This law has more stringent provisions than those in other states across the country. He expressed confidence that these strict provisions will effectively control incidents of illegal religious conversions.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government has implemented the Gaudham Scheme for the protection and promotion of cows. Under this scheme, proper arrangements for fodder, drinking water, and other essential facilities for cattle have been ensured in the Gaudhams. He said that cow protection is important to both Indian culture and the rural economy, and the state government is continuously working in this direction.
The Chief Minister said that spiritual events like the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha strengthen moral values, harmony, service, compassion, and public welfare in society. Wishing happiness, prosperity, peace, and well-being for the people of the state, he called on everyone to play an active role in preserving Indian culture, eternal traditions, and spiritual values.
On this occasion, Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Vice President of Chhattisgarh Gau Seva Aayog Shri Rajivlochan Maharaj, Shri Pawan Sai, Shri Nandan Jain, Shri Yogesh Agrawal and a large number of devotees and worshippers were present.
