Raipur. The accused in a major financial scam involving insurance has been arrested in the capital. Based on a report from Jatin Chaudhary, a software engineer living in New Shanti Nagar, the Civil Lines police station arrested LIC agents Balveer Singh Sains and Devendra Sen, 26, son of Prahlad Sen, both residents of Lodhi, behind Crystal Arcade, adjacent to Chhapra Bhatti Rinku Grocery Store, Mowa Pandri police station, Raipur. In his application, Jatin Chaudhary stated that he had been purchasing insurance policies from Saranjit Kaur since 2013.
Trusting the mother-son agent, he took out 13 insurance policies in his own name and in the name of his family. He regularly deposited the annual installments, either in cash or online, into Balveer Singh's account. He also took out a policy loan in 2022, depositing ₹281,000 into Balveer Singh's account. Full details of the payment were provided as NEFT transactions made from the bank. A game of forged documents: The deposit receipts issued by Balveer for 2022 and 2023 were actually completely fake.
When he checked the receipts at the LIC branch in Pandri for his income tax return in 2024, the office stated that no deposits had been made in any of the policies for any of the years. LIC officials declared all the receipts as forged and advised him to file a complaint immediately. According to the complainant, the mother-son duo, an agent, conspired to create false documents and defrauded him of money in the form of policy premiums, loan amounts, and other items.
Other investors were also targeted. Balveer Singh and Saranjit Kaur were not only committing insurance fraud, but also defrauding people by promising double returns on their investments. A similar pattern of fraud was adopted against three other individuals. A total of Rs 45,53,780 was defrauded from all the victims.

Kawardha. This is the story of Rajulal Sahu, son of Chamru Sahu, a beneficiary of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), resident of Gram Panchayat Bami, District Panchayat Sahaspur Lohara, Kabirdham district. Mr. Rajulal has now become an inspiration for other villagers in his village. The information he received from the Gram Sabha opened many new avenues for him. Upon Mr. Rajulal's request, Gram Panchayat Bami approved the construction of an irrigation well under the MNREGA scheme at a cost of ₹252,000. This approval sparked new hope for Mr. Rajulal. Construction began on March 16, 2024, and was completed on July 15, 2024. This well, constructed at a total cost of ₹252,000, has become the foundation of the farmer's prosperity. This irrigation well, constructed under MNREGA, has become an inspiring example of rural development in Gram Panchayat Bami. It not only created employment, but the permanent water structure has transformed the farmer's fortune. This work proves how planned and well-directed development work in rural areas can bring real change to people's lives.

Previously, water scarcity limited farm production. Rain-dependent agriculture often affected crops, and farmer Rajulal faced financial hardship. Before the construction of the well, paddy yields were 36 quintals, and for the Rabi crop, water had to be drawn from other people's borewells. Now, I have my own well, from which I irrigate my fields with a pump. Crop production is increasing, income is rising, and life has become more prosperous. With increased income, meeting family needs has become easier than ever.

In the financial year 2024-25, under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, irrigation well construction was approved for 147 beneficiaries at a cost of over ₹35.4 million. Similarly, in the current financial year 2025-26, well construction has been approved for 86 beneficiaries, costing over ₹21.2 million. These projects are providing significant employment opportunities and providing home-based irrigation. Construction of many irrigation wells has been completed, and beneficiaries are benefiting from increased crop yields by irrigating their fields and gardens. It can be said that the wells are helping local farmers progress economically.

Raipur, November 28, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that humanitarian, sensitive and visionary initiatives like “Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025” and “Puna Margem: Rehabilitation to Regeneration” have established an environment of trust, security and lasting peace in Bastar.

The Chief Minister said that many people trapped in the Maoist web are now abandoning the path of violence and returning to development and the mainstream. In this vein, today 10 Maoists, including Chaitu alias Shyam Dada, a senior member of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee and carrying a bounty of 25 lakh rupees, surrendered. The Chief Minister described this as clear evidence of a changing Bastar and the success of the government's policies.

Chief Minister Shri Sai also stated that, in accordance with the government's commitment, all surrendered comrades will be provided with the necessary rehabilitation facilities for a safe, dignified, and self-reliant life. He noted that the increasing number of surrenders demonstrates the public's trust in the government's policies and that Bastar is rapidly moving toward peace, trust, and development.

Raipur - Chief Minister Sai attended the Vishnu Maha Yagya and Chakra Puja program organized by the Potters' Community in Narayanpur village of Jashpur district on Friday. He offered prayers and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. On this occasion, he announced ₹25 lakh for the establishment of a glazing unit for potters in Goriya village through the Mati Kala Board and for the expansion of the Potters' Community's Mangal Bhavan. Chief Minister Sai stated that electronic potter's wheels are being distributed through the Chhattisgarh Mati Kala Board, which will reduce labor, increase production capacity, and provide better finishing to products. This will generate higher market prices and ensure a stable income throughout the year. He added that training programs related to new designs, modern technology, and entrepreneurship are also being conducted to train artisans. "Our government is also providing financial assistance to potters, enabling them to purchase new equipment and expand their businesses," he said. Fairs, exhibitions, and online platforms are being used for marketing, enabling their art to reach not only the entire country but also abroad. He appealed for the establishment of Chhattisgarh's Mati Kala on a global scale.

High level discussion on internal security and technology based policing

Raipur In the review meeting of the works of the Higher Education Department, Minister Tank Ram Verma directed the officials to make biometric attendance mandatory in all colleges and audit system at division level, promote graduate principals and settle the pending cases of senior category pay scale soon.

Today, Higher Education Minister Tank Ram Verma held a departmental review meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan, Mantralaya, Nava Raipur. In which the officials were also directed to implement NEP 2020, create e-classes in colleges, include Indian knowledge tradition in the higher education curriculum and provide training to guest lecturers under NEP.

Minister Verma also directed officials to construct studios in colleges. These studios will allow professors to record their lectures and send them to students. Senior officials, including Higher Education Secretary S. Bharathidasan, were present at the meeting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to pay a state visit to India on December 4th and 5th at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to information shared by Russian state news agencies, the important visit is expected to include extensive discussions on key issues such as oil imports, defense cooperation, and bilateral trade.

The outline of Putin's visit became clear in August when National Security Advisor Ajit Doval visited Moscow. However, the dates were not announced at that time. Subsequently, Prime Minister Modi and Putin met in China during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed this week that Putin will visit India to attend the 23rd annual summit between India and Russia. The ministry officially announced on Friday that the state visit will be held on December 4 and 5.

During the visit, President Draupadi Murmu will welcome Vladimir Putin and host a banquet in his honor at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Modi and Putin will hold extensive talks, including discussions on defense cooperation, strategic partnership, and global challenges.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the meeting will provide an opportunity to review progress in relations between the two countries, further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, and advance partnership on regional and global issues. This visit is considered significant in terms of giving a new direction to India-Russia relations.

Jagdalpur. The Jagdalpur-Raoghat project, a 140-kilometer-long railway line connecting the tribal areas of Bastar directly to Raipur, is now ready to be operational. The company has also begun demarcation work. The most promising aspect of this entire process is that this time, work has begun from the Bastar side. Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap said that a month ago, he held a meeting with railway officials, where he reported on the progress of demarcation of the railway line and forest land, and promised to send a proposal for forest clearance to the central government soon. He stated that the railway line from Bastar to Raipur will be completed by 2029-30.

Raipur Railway Division Senior DCM Awadhesh Kumar Trivedi said that site demarcation and forest survey work for the Raoghat-Jagdalpur railway line is progressing rapidly. Construction will begin simultaneously at two or three locations by the middle of next year to ensure deadlines are met.

The pamphlet appealed to the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh to halt Naxal operations for a few days, stating, "We are in talks with our comrades." The Naxalites also expressed their desire to surrender before the Home Ministers or Chief Ministers of all three states. This is the second pamphlet issued by Anant in the past week. The first pamphlet called for surrendering by February 15th. The latest pamphlet calls for surrendering by January 1st.

Naxalite spokesperson Anant's pamphlet states, "We are releasing an open frequency, 435.715, for communication with our comrades. We will communicate with our comrades on this number every day from 11 am until January 1st." This is the first time the Naxalites have released their own open frequency. A Baofeng is a small, handheld walkie-talkie/handheld radio. It allows two people to communicate without mobile network access in the jungle, mountains, or even in crowded cities. It can be used by security guards, event management, trekking teams, police forces, and wildlife workers. A special frequency is set for Baofeng. If another device is on the same frequency, they can connect and communicate; there's no need for a mobile tower. Some frequencies are public, while others are government-owned and restricted. Using the wrong frequency can cause problems.

A district-level investigation committee, formed on the instructions of Gariaband Collector Mr. Uikey, conducted on-site inspections in six Gram Panchayats to clarify the status of incomplete houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). During the inspection, the houses of beneficiaries Gorvadhan Nagesh, Kanhal Ram, and Gajin in Gram Panchayat Saraipani were found to be completed. In Gram Panchayat Usrijor, the house of beneficiary Durga Singh was found to be under construction, geotagged at the plinth level. Due to ongoing construction, the house warming ceremony has not been held. Geotagging of construction provides information about the rules and actual status of the work.

This scheme aims to provide a permanent house with basic amenities to all homeless families in rural areas. Beneficiaries are encouraged to use local materials and designs to build quality houses. The amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's Aadhaar-linked bank account. In Gram Panchayat Godhiyari, Gariaband district, the house of beneficiary Sukhchand was found to be completed. Similarly, in the village panchayat of Mudgelmal, the house of beneficiary Bhanwar was found to be fully constructed. In the Amlipada Panchayat, the houses of beneficiaries Dhanmati and Nirobai were also found to be completely complete. Collector Mr. Uike clarified that physical inspections at all sites and comparison of geotags recorded in the housing software have confirmed that no incomplete house has been given a housewarming ceremony. All geotags have been done as per the rules and in accordance with the actual situation.

 Raipur - Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today attended the Shri Vishnu Mahayagna and Chakra Puja program organized by the Potters' Community in Narayanpur village of Jashpur district. He offered prayers and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. On this occasion, he announced ₹25 lakh for the establishment of a glazing unit for potters in Goriya village through the Mati Kala Board and for the expansion of the Potters' Community's Mangal Bhavan. The Chief Minister also distributed electronic potter's wheels to 100 potters from the Surguja division. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this sacred event, the Shri Vishnu Mahayagna, organized by the Potters' Community, is a living example of our cultural heritage. Chakra Puja is not merely the worship of the clay wheel, but symbolizes the creation of the universe, hard work, creativity, and the continuity of human life. He said that the Potters' Community is an integral part of Chhattisgarhi culture. All of you are adept at the art of clay. Your creative efforts add life and completeness to our festivals and religious rituals. Our government is fully committed to preserving, promoting, and empowering this precious heritage. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that electronic potter's wheels are being distributed through the Chhattisgarh Mati Kala Board, which will reduce labor, increase production capacity, and provide better finishing to products. This will generate higher market prices and ensure a stable income throughout the year. He added that training programs related to new designs, modern technology, and entrepreneurship are also being conducted to train artisans. Our government is also providing financial assistance to potters, enabling them to purchase new equipment and expand their businesses. Fairs, exhibitions, and online platforms are being used for marketing, so that their art can reach not only the entire country but also abroad. Kirtam Ram Patel, a farmer from Rampur, thanked the government for the smooth arrangements. 

Raipur - The ongoing paddy procurement festival across the state has brought a message of relief, transparency, and ease for farmers. Kirtam Ram Patel, a farmer and village Patel from Rampur Gram Panchayat in Surguja district, expressed satisfaction with the arrangements at procurement centers, stating that this year's paddy procurement process is extremely simple, systematic, and farmer-friendly. Farmer Mr. Kirtam Ram Patel stated that he is selling a total of 187 quintals of paddy this season. He has already sold 80 quintals of this paddy through tokens, and will sell the remaining 107 quintals when the next token is issued. He stated that the token system has reduced crowding at procurement centers and is allowing farmers to sell their paddy on time. He added that the adequate availability of gunny bags, cooperation from staff, accurate weighing, and transparent procedures are further strengthening farmers' confidence. Farmer Mr. Patel stated that compared to previous years, the procurement system is much smoother and transparent, with no disruptions. Farmers are delighted with Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai's decision to set a support price of Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy. He explained that improved arrangements are ensuring farmers receive fair prices and save time and labor. Food department officials stated that token distribution, electronic weighing, quality testing, bag management, and payment systems have been strengthened this year to ensure complete transparency in paddy procurement. This satisfaction from farmers is proof that the paddy procurement campaign, being conducted under the Chief Minister's direction, is succeeding in benefiting farmers and ensuring a smooth process. 

Raipur – Chhattisgarh has achieved a remarkable achievement at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IIFT) 2025. The Chhattisgarh pavilion was awarded the prestigious Special Appreciation Medal for its outstanding thematic presentation and display. The award was presented at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where the IITF was held from November 14 to 27, 2025. This achievement comes as Chhattisgarh celebrates 25 years of its formation in 2025. The pavilion presented Chhattisgarh's journey in a highly engaging and experiential way—showcasing all aspects of cultural traditions, tribal heritage, livelihood-based initiatives, good governance, industrial development, tourism, and sustainable development.

* The pavilion effectively showcased the state's 25-year journey, its achievements, future goals, and the concept of Nava Chhattisgarh. The Special Appreciation Medal symbolizes the state's growing confidence, innovation-led growth, and commitment to a strong economic future. The India International Trade Fair, organized annually by the India Trade Promotion Organization, is one of the largest and most diverse events in the country.
