Raipur. A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai on Wednesday approved a new excise policy for the financial year 2026-27. This new policy clearly directs that liquor will now be available to liquor lovers in plastic bottles instead of glass bottles.
Liquor companies will be directed to package liquor in plastic bottles instead of glass bottles from April 1, 2026, to prevent damage from breakage in government liquor stores. When the liquor reaches liquor lovers, they will receive it safely. Otherwise, it has often been seen that many liquor lovers spill it while purchasing, resulting in losses. However, from April 1, they will no longer suffer any losses. Meanwhile, the authority to issue composite licenses, previously held at the government level, will now be vested in the Excise Commissioner.
