Decks cleared for bringing new religious freedom bill in the state

Raipur. After the President returned the Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, 2006, passed during the tenure of former Chief Minister and Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, Governor Ramen Deka has now returned it to the Assembly for reconsideration. This clears the way for a new Freedom of Religion Bill in the state.
This bill was passed in 2006 during the tenure of then-Chief Minister Raman Singh and sent to the President for approval. After a long time, the President has returned the bill. Now, Governor Ramen Deka has sent it back to the Assembly for reconsideration. This will allow the government to introduce a new Freedom of Religion Bill in the House. If the new bill is introduced and passed in the Assembly, it will pave the way for a new law regarding religious conversion provisions in the state.
