 Raipur-Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the state-level Bhakta Mata Karma Jayanti Mahotsav 2026 held in Surajpur today. He paid his respects by garlanding the statue of Bhakta Mata Karma and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state. Prior to the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai visited Bhakta Mata Karma Chowk on the Surajpur Ring Road, performed the ritualistic worship, garlanded the statue of Mata Karma, and received her blessings. He stated that Mata Karma's life is an inspiring example of sacrifice, service, and dedication, which sends a message of unity and positive progress to society. In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai described the Sahu community as a proud, cultured, and progressive community, noting that great figures like Bhakta Mata Karma, Mata Rajim Dai, and philanthropist Bhamashah are invaluable assets of this community. He stated that the Sahu community has always played an important role in the development of Chhattisgarh and will continue to contribute to taking the state to new heights. Chief Minister Shri Sai reiterated his government's commitment to the issue of Naxalism, stating that the Bastar region, long affected by Naxal violence, is now rapidly integrating into the mainstream of development. He stated that with the expansion of roads, electricity, education, and health services, over 400 villages have been brought into the mainstream, and Bastar will reach new heights of development in the future. Citing global circumstances, Shri Sai said that despite the ongoing war and energy crisis in West Asia, India is in a better position under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to avoid any rumors and maintain trust in the administration. Citing his government's achievements, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's guarantees are being fulfilled with priority in Chhattisgarh. He reported that before Holi, more than 2.5 million farmers had been paid a difference of over ₹10,000 crore, while under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, over 7 million women had been provided with over ₹16,000 crore. He said that landless agricultural laborers have also been provided financial assistance of ₹10,000 each, which has strengthened their livelihoods. Additionally, thousands of devotees are being provided the opportunity to visit the holy places through the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana and the Chief Minister's Tirtha Yatra Yojana. On this occasion, Chief Minister Sahi announced ₹50 lakh for the construction of a community hall and ₹25 lakh for the construction of a boundary wall for the Sahu community. He stated that this support will play a crucial role in the community's organizational empowerment and future building. Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, in his address at the event, stated that the Sahu community has a glorious history and has brought honor to the country and the state through its hard work and dedication. He emphasized that education, organization, and social discipline are essential for social development, emphasizing that building a strong and self-reliant society is possible only through these values. Also present on this occasion were Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal.Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal along with many public representatives and dignitaries were present.
