Chhattisgarh tops the country in e-KYC of MNREGA workers
00 Under the guidance of Chief Minister Sai, the state created a new record
Raipur. Chhattisgarh has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the first position in the entire country in the e-KYC work of workers under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). According to the latest report released by the Government of India, e-KYC of 97.11 percent active workers has been completed in the state, which is the highest at the national level. The special thing is that Chhattisgarh has achieved this feat by surpassing small states like Keralam, Tripura, Mizoram and big states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu.

Chhattisgarh has achieved a leading position in the country in completing the e-KYC process for workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). Digital verification of over 58.16 lakh workers has been completed in the state, ensuring transparency in payments. This digital process is helping to eliminate fake job cards and directly transfer wages to the bank accounts of genuine beneficiaries. This achievement is the result of the able guidance of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and the continuous leadership, monitoring, and effective strategy of Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma. A planned campaign in the state accelerated the e-KYC process, enabling a large number of workers to be onboarded in a timely manner.
According to reports, out of a total of over 58 lakh active workers in Chhattisgarh, e-KYC has been successfully completed for over 56 lakh workers. This achievement not only demonstrates administrative efficiency but also marks a significant step towards digital empowerment in rural areas. Expressing his satisfaction with this achievement, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai stated that the state government is committed to protecting the interests of the poor and working class and ensuring transparent access to benefits from government schemes. Through e-KYC, workers are assured of timely payments and direct benefits from the schemes.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma stated that this achievement is the result of the coordinated efforts of state officials, employees, and village-level teams. He explained that e-KYC has not only prevented fake attendance on muster rolls but also brought transparency in the delivery of benefits to genuine beneficiaries. Congratulating all concerned officials, Mr. Sharma directed them to expedite the completion of the remaining pending cases and move the state towards the goal of 100% e-KYC. This success was achieved through special campaigns launched in the state, public awareness at the village panchayat level, and effective use of technological resources. This achievement establishes Chhattisgarh as a leading state in the field of digital governance and rural development.
