Major action by Agriculture Department in Manora, sale ban imposed on two pesticide sellers

Action taken on suspicion of substandard pesticide, sample taken from a shop

Jashpurnagar . Under the direction of Collector Rohit Vyas, the Agriculture Department is continuously conducting inspection campaigns to provide quality agricultural inputs to farmers. In this series, a joint inspection of pesticide sellers' establishments was conducted in Development Block Manora. Under the guidance of Sub-Divisional Officer (Agriculture) Kavach Bhagat, the action was taken by the team of Fertilizer, Seed and Pesticide Inspector Poonam Lal Kerketta and Senior Agriculture Development Officer Manora, in which irregularities were found in two establishments and sale was banned.

During the investigation, when the standard level of the pesticides identified at Ansari Beej Bhandaar Manora and Krishna Beej Bhandaar Manora was found to be doubtful, a ban order has been issued on their sale, distribution and transfer for 20 days or till the investigation report comes under Rule 21(1)(a) of the Insecticides Act 1968 and Rules 1971. At the same time, a sample of pesticide has been taken from Tegia Beej Bhandaar Aasta for testing. The concerned sellers have been instructed to keep the banned stock safe and to produce all the documents on demand. The department has clarified that in case of violation of the order, strict legal action will be taken under the Insecticides Act.
