4 tractors involved in illegal transportation of sand and soil for brick making seized

Raipur, September 2026. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is prioritizing good governance, transparency, and effective law enforcement and is continuously taking action against the illegal exploitation of natural resources. In this sequence, the Mineral Department in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district has taken action against illegal mining and transportation, seizing four tractor vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of sand and soil.

On the instructions of Collector Mr. Vijay Dayaram K., the Mineral Department team is continuously monitoring and inspecting various areas of the district. During this time, the departmental team caught three tractor vehicles illegally transporting sand in the Silpahari area and one tractor vehicle illegally transporting soil for brick making at Jyotipur Tiraha.

All four vehicles have been seized and placed in safe custody. Three tractor vehicles are being held at the Amarpur police station premises, and one tractor vehicle is being held at the municipal police station premises. Action will be taken against the owners of the seized vehicles as per the provisions of Sections 21(5) and 23(a) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

Conservation of natural resources is given top priority

Collector Mr. Vijay Dayaram K. has directed the concerned officials to keep a constant vigil to effectively control illegal mining and transportation of minerals in the district and ensure strict action against those violating the rules.

He clarified that the district's natural resources are the collective property of the people and that illegal exploitation will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The administration is placing special emphasis on conserving mineral resources and promoting legal mining and transportation.

Active initiatives of the administration towards good governance

In accordance with the state government's good governance policy, the district administration is ensuring that natural resources are used within the rules and that timely and effective action is taken against illegal activities. The Mineral Department's consistent action is sending a clear message to those involved in illegal mining and transportation that no leniency will be tolerated if they violate the rules.

The objective of this action is not only limited to seizure of vehicles but also to effectively curb illegal exploitation of mineral resources, protect the revenue of the government and maintain environmental balance.

Continuous monitoring and action will continue

The Mineral Department stated that illegal mining, transportation, and unauthorized use of minerals are being continuously monitored in the district. Departmental staff are conducting regular inspections and taking action in various areas. The campaign against illegal mining and transportation will continue in the coming days.
