Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new chapter in the overall development of villages across the country is being written. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai made this statement today while addressing the Panchayat Officers' Conference held at the DDU Auditorium in Raipur on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that only through the active participation of Panchayat representatives will villages develop and the benefits of government schemes reach the last person. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the people of the state and Panchayat representatives on National Panchayati Raj Day.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that he began his political career as a Panchayat representative, serving as a Panch and Sarpanch. He added that the experiences gained as a Panchayat representative regarding village development are crucial for progress. Today, thousands of public representatives have begun their journeys in Panchayats and reached the upper houses of the country. The Chief Minister stated that Panchayats play a crucial role in ensuring clean, healthy, and beautiful villages, and that effective policies are formed only through effective work at the grassroots level.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, villagers are now getting permanent houses, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has significantly improved village connectivity. He said that through Atal Digital Seva Kendras, services like banking, electricity bill payment, pensions, and insurance have now become accessible to villagers, boosting the rural economy. Mahatari Sadans are being constructed for women, many of which have been completed and are directly benefiting women.

Chief Minister Shri Sai asked the Panchayat representatives to ensure regular monitoring of all activities conducted in the Panchayats, so that all development works can be completed with quality and timeliness. He informed that under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, the target has been set to provide clean drinking water to every household, in the successful implementation of which the Panchayats have a big responsibility and the Panchayat representatives will have to play their active role in completing it in a timely manner.

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while referring to the organization of Sushasan Tihar, said that through this, camps will be organized to solve the problems of the common people. He called upon the Panchayat representatives to play an active role in organizing Sushasan Tihar and through this, identifying the problems of their area and solving them. He informed that under the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Solution Scheme, a special opportunity is being provided for payment of pending electricity bills, in which the surcharge has been completely waived and there is also a provision for additional concession. Shri Sai asked the representatives to make its benefits available to maximum number of villagers.

Police investigation continues in the suicide case of the head teacher, the department is providing full cooperation

Regarding recent media reports regarding the suicide of a head teacher in Bijapur district, the District Mission Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, Bijapur, has clarified the situation, stating that reports alleging pressure to pay for incomplete construction work are baseless and misleading. The clarification issued by the District Mission Coordinator, Samagra Shiksha, Bijapur, states that given the sensitivity of the matter, the department is fully cooperating with the police investigation in an impartial manner.

According to information received, Mr. Raju Pujari, head teacher at the Majharpara Primary School under Gram Panchayat Palanar, passed away on April 22, 2026, which is a very tragic incident. During the preliminary investigation by the police, some letters were recovered from the deceased, based on which the investigation is ongoing.

The Samagra Shiksha Department has clarified that the construction of the primary school building and additional rooms was carried out through the School Management Committee, of which the head teacher is the ex-officio chairperson. The first installment was paid according to the approved amount for the construction work. After completion of the work, upon receipt of the measurement book, completion certificate, transfer certificate, and photographs, the funds were released through running bills based on progress.

According to the department, construction of both the primary school building and the additional room was completed in February 2026, and the remaining 60 percent of the funds are pending receipt from the state level. No pressure or irregularities have been found in the payment process.

The District Mission Coordinator stated that unverified news published in some newspapers and electronic media is misleading, causing confusion among the public. He appealed that news should be published based only on official information.

The department reiterated that the police are investigating all aspects of this tragic incident, and the Education Department is ensuring cooperation at all levels.

The patient will be admitted to Mekara for better treatment.

The woman is suffering from stage 4 thyroid cancer and underwent chemotherapy at AIIMS last November.

After treatment at AIIMS and Mekara in Raipur for a year, she was also treated at Tata Memorial Mumbai.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer said that on November 11, after receiving information that Mr. Samlu Markam of village Kantabhara (Nagwahi) was carrying his wife, Mrs. Kapura Markam, suffering from thyroid cancer, for treatment by laying her on his bike, the health department team reached the victim's house on November 12 and she was sent to Mekara Raipur in 108 ambulance for better treatment. Here the woman has been admitted to the Cancer Research Unit where she was treated under the supervision of cancer specialist doctors.

He further stated that upon receiving information about the victim's health problems, a team from the Primary Health Center, Regankhar/Community Health Center, Bodla, Development Block, Bodla, visited the residence of the victim, Kapura Markam, wife of Samlu Markam, in Katabhara (Nagawahi) village. Upon inspection, Mr. Samlu Markam found that Mr. Markam had taken his wife, Kapura Markam, to the Primary Health Center in the Regankhar forest for treatment due to a lump in her throat. The doctor there discussed the patient's condition with district health department officials and referred her to Raipur for treatment. In 2024, she received treatment at AIIMS, Mekara, and several private hospitals, including DKS Hospital, for a year. Subsequently, in January 2025, she received treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, for a month. After treatment, she was brought home. When the victim's condition worsened again, the Health Department took her to Raipur to see specialist doctors for treatment on November 12th. She was admitted to Mekara on November 12th and 13th, and to AIIMS from November 14th to 19th, 2025, where she received chemotherapy. The patient was subsequently discharged on November 20th. She has been recovering at home since then. After her condition worsened, she was admitted to the district hospital today. From there, she will be admitted to Raipur.

The Social Welfare Department and the Health Department should jointly organize the camp, providing treatment and necessary equipment to those with disabilities in need.

Raipur. The District Consumer Commission has declared the collection of parking fees from Ambuja City Center Mall illegal and ordered it to ensure free parking. This decision is expected to put an end to the extortion of parking fees from people.

Anjinesh Anjay Shukla, in his petition filed before the Commission, stated that on June 15, 2025, he drove his car to Ambuja Mall, where he was charged a parking fee of ₹30. Protesting this, he stated that he did not want to use the parking space and only wanted to leave his mother there.

However, the mall management stated that Ambuja Mall does not offer any free pickup or drop-off facilities. Disturbed by this statement, Advocate Shukla filed a complaint with the Commission, seeking to declare the parking fee collection by Ambuja Mall illegal.

During the hearing of the case, Advocate Shukla, citing relevant decisions of the Gujarat High Court and various Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions, argued before the court that the parking fee being charged by the mall was illegal, and also demanded Rs 50,000 as mental damages.

The court, taking cognizance of the arguments and legal precedents presented, considered them to be legal and declared the collection of parking fees from vehicles as illegal and directed the mall to ensure free parking arrangements.

A single bench of the High Court had previously heard the case, directing the state government to consider including former service in the old pension scheme. The government was given 120 days to do so. Instead of complying with this directive, the state government appealed the single bench's decision to a double bench, where the case was heard by a bench headed by the Chief Justice.

The state government, citing the terms of the merger, argued that pensions should be determined based on the conditions established at the time of merger. However, the court rejected this argument. The double bench remarked that since prior service was recognized during the merger, there should be no obstacle to including it in the old pension scheme. The court held that ignoring prior service is unjustified. The double bench of the High Court dismissed the state government's appeal and upheld the single bench's order.

Raipur: Mrs. Shubhangi Apte, Brand Ambassador of the No Plastic Campaign, paid a courtesy call on Governor Mr. Ramen Deka at Lok Bhavan today. Mrs. Sampatti Prajapati, a resident of Khaprikala village in the Lormi district panchayat of Mungeli district, is an inspiring example, having transformed her life despite limited resources.

Before joining the group, her family's primary source of income was a small hotel business, which barely provided a living. After joining the "Jai Shanidev Women's Self-Help Group," she received credit facilities through a revolving fund, community investment fund, and bank linkage. Using these resources, she expanded her hotel business and also started a Suhaag Bhandaar and kiosk banking. As a result of her hard work, her monthly income has increased from 10,000 rupees to approximately 25,000 rupees. Her annual income has reached approximately 3 lakh rupees, while she earns an additional 1 lakh rupees from agriculture. This journey of economic empowerment has significantly improved her family's standard of living. Today, Sampatti Prajapati has earned herself the nickname "Lakhpati Didi" and is inspiring other women to become self-reliant.

Raipur: Under the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, operated under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, devotees from Jashpur district are continuously getting the opportunity to have darshan of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya Dham. So far, 2640 devotees from Jashpur district have visited Ayodhya Dham under the scheme and have had darshan of Shri Ramlala, due to which an atmosphere of religious enthusiasm has prevailed in the area.

Raipur: The Chief Minister's Health Bastar Campaign, aimed at strengthening and making health services accessible in remote and inaccessible areas of the Bastar division, is steadily progressing with positive results. Under the campaign, health department teams have reached village-to-village and screened more than 419,898 citizens, enabling a large number of people to access timely health services.

Patients identified during the campaign are being provided immediate, free testing, medication, and treatment. Furthermore, through an effective referral system for serious and complicated cases, 4,272 patients have been referred to higher healthcare institutions for specialist treatment. To further strengthen access to health services, a robust health network has been developed through coordination between primary health centers, community health centers, district hospitals, medical colleges, and super-specialty institutions. Services are being effectively delivered, particularly to hard-to-reach areas, through mobile medical units and regular health camps.

Under the campaign, a digital health profile (Abha) is being created for every citizen, ensuring continuity and better management of healthcare services in the future. This initiative is also proving helpful in timely identification and effective treatment of diseases.

Mrs. Prem Bai Patel has received her 26th installment of monthly financial assistance under the scheme. This regular support has brought remarkable change to her life. Using the funds, she started a Gupchup (Panipuri) stall, which she operates from village to village. This small business provides her with a regular income, empowering her family financially.

With this income, Mrs. Prem Bai is able to meet the basic needs of her household—such as groceries and other daily necessities. She is also able to save for her children's future. She explains that while she previously faced financial difficulties, her life has now become more stable, her self-confidence has increased, and she has developed a sense of self-reliance.

This scheme was launched by the Chhattisgarh government in March 2024 to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise and promote the overall development of women. Since then, beneficiary women in the state have been regularly provided with a monthly assistance of ₹1,000. A total of ₹16,881 crore has been disbursed under this scheme in 26 installments, directly benefiting millions of women.
