Raipur/Our double-engine government is strengthening the foundation of a developed India by empowering Panchayati Raj institutions. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new chapter in the overall development of villages across the country is being written. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai made this statement today while addressing the Panchayat Officers' Conference held at the DDU Auditorium in Raipur on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that only through the active participation of Panchayat representatives will villages develop and the benefits of government schemes reach the last person. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the people of the state and Panchayat representatives on National Panchayati Raj Day.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that he began his political career as a Panchayat representative, serving as a Panch and Sarpanch. He added that the experiences gained as a Panchayat representative regarding village development are crucial for progress. Today, thousands of public representatives have begun their journeys in Panchayats and reached the upper houses of the country. The Chief Minister stated that Panchayats play a crucial role in ensuring clean, healthy, and beautiful villages, and that effective policies are formed only through effective work at the grassroots level.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, villagers are now getting permanent houses, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has significantly improved village connectivity. He said that through Atal Digital Seva Kendras, services like banking, electricity bill payment, pensions, and insurance have now become accessible to villagers, boosting the rural economy. Mahatari Sadans are being constructed for women, many of which have been completed and are directly benefiting women.
Chief Minister Shri Sai asked the Panchayat representatives to ensure regular monitoring of all activities conducted in the Panchayats, so that all development works can be completed with quality and timeliness. He informed that under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, the target has been set to provide clean drinking water to every household, in the successful implementation of which the Panchayats have a big responsibility and the Panchayat representatives will have to play their active role in completing it in a timely manner.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while referring to the organization of Sushasan Tihar, said that through this, camps will be organized to solve the problems of the common people. He called upon the Panchayat representatives to play an active role in organizing Sushasan Tihar and through this, identifying the problems of their area and solving them. He informed that under the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Solution Scheme, a special opportunity is being provided for payment of pending electricity bills, in which the surcharge has been completely waived and there is also a provision for additional concession. Shri Sai asked the representatives to make its benefits available to maximum number of villagers.
