On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, President Draupadi Murmu on Friday conferred the 'Prime Minister's National Child Award' on 20 children. These children have been selected from 18 states and union territories.

Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated to honor the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh's four sons. Guru Gobind Singh had four sons from his three wives: Ajit, Jujhar, Zorawar, and Fateh. They are also known as Sahibzadas.

All four sons were killed by the Mughal army on December 26, 1705. To honor their martyrdom, PM Modi announced that December 26 in 2022 will be celebrated as Veer Bal Diwas.

Four killed in road accident in Andhra Pradesh

Karnataka - One person was killed and five others injured when a helium gas cylinder exploded in Mysuru on Thursday, officials said.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in front of the Jayamarthanda Gate of the city's Mysore Palace. The balloon seller, Salim, was 40 years old, the son of Khamaruddin, and a resident of Tofiya village in Kannauj district, Uttar Pradesh.

He died on the spot. According to officials, five other people present near the scene were also injured. The injured have been identified as Shahnaz Shabbir (54), Lakshmi (45), Kotresh Gutte (54), Manjula Nanjangud (29), and Ranjita (30). They have been hospitalized and are undergoing treatment. Police are investigating the incident.

Ayodhya : The outline for organising the anniversary of the consecration of the Ram Temple (Pratishtha Dwadashi) has been finalised at a meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

This year, the anniversary of Pran Pratishtha will be celebrated on December 31 instead of January 22. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the ceremony as the chief guest, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also attend the event.

Trust General Secretary Champat Rai explained that in the Indian Sanatan tradition, all festivals are celebrated according to the calendar, not the English date. The consecration of Ram Lalla took place on the Dwadashi date of the bright fortnight of the month of Paush, which fell on January 22, 2024.

In 2025, the same Dwadashi date falls on December 31st, so Pratishtha Dwadashi will be celebrated on this day. The first anniversary was celebrated on January 11th, 2025.

According to reports, various religious rituals, including Ram Katha, Ramlila, and cultural programs, will take place from December 27 to January 1. On December 31, a daytime darshan and address will be followed by a poetry conference in the evening.

Several artists, including Anup Jalota, will perform on January 1, while Suresh Wadkar and other artists will perform on January 2. All events will be open to the public at the Angad Tila complex.

Bhopal: Preparations are underway to increase electricity bills once again in Madhya Pradesh. However, the state's Energy Minister, Pradyuman Singh Tomar, has distanced himself from the increase in electricity rates. Electricity demand record broken

Minister Pradyuman Singh stated that on December 12th, the state experienced the highest power demand in its history, reaching 19,113 MW, which was supplied without interruption. The state currently has a total contracted power capacity of 25,081 MW, making it a surplus state. A target for increasing power capacity by 2037 has been set, including a target of 3,500 MW for solar energy.

Under this, the tender process for the 600 MW Morena Solar Park has been completed. Additionally, 6340 MW Kusum and 2000 MW are proposed on a complementary basis. A target of 3200 MW has been set for wind energy, of which the tender process for 1600 MW is underway. Furthermore, targets have been set for 4250 MW of storage and 2000 MW of thermal power generation capacity.

Surat: The district police have taken strict action against immoral activities operating under the guise of resorts and farmhouses in Surat Rural. Following the instructions of Range Inspector General Premveer Singh and Superintendent of Police Rajesh Gadhiya, the police raided the "Akshay Resort," located within the boundaries of Jothan village in Olpad taluka. During the raid, a total of nine accused, including eight Thai women, were arrested. Police have also busted an international prostitution racket. Based on reliable information, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), the Local Police Bureau (LCB), and the Olpad police conducted a joint operation. Police sent a "dummy customer" to confirm that foreign women were being forced into immoral activities. Upon receiving sufficient evidence, the police raided the site and apprehended the eight Thai women, the customers, and the operators. Investigation revealed that resort owner Akshay Kanchanlal Bhandari had provided rooms to mastermind Sunil Yadav for ₹2,000 per day. Customers were charged between 2,000 and 8,000 rupees for sex with foreign women. This network stretched from Surat city to Olpad. Police seized goods worth 20.62 lakh rupees during the operation.

Raipur: Mr. Mukesh Chaudhary, a progressive farmer from Navapali village in the Barmkela development block of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, has reshaped traditional farming practices by adopting innovation and modern agricultural techniques. Cultivating rice and chili peppers using the drip method, he earns lakhs of rupees annually and has established himself as a successful agricultural entrepreneur.

Mr. Chaudhary explained that in 2011, he began cultivating chili peppers using traditional methods on two acres of land. During this time, he received guidance from Mr. Surendra Patel, the then Senior Horticulture Superintendent of the Horticulture Plantation Center, Nadigaon, which taught him about drip farming. Subsequently, in 2013, he began farming using drip technology for the first time in the Barmkela block.

Under the drip system, chilli was planted by deep ploughing the fields, constructing ridges, laying lateral pipes and using mulching. By providing balanced irrigation, fertilizer and medicine through drip, there was a significant increase in production and chilli yield almost doubled. After getting better results, Mr. Chaudhary reduced the area of paddy cultivation and increased chilli cultivation and is currently cultivating chilli on about 12 acres of land. This is earning him lakhs of rupees every year.

Becoming an inspiration for other farmers

Seeing the success of farmer Mukesh Chaudhary, many farmers of the surrounding villages including Khinchari, Banjipali, Bendrapara, Risora, Nunpani, Linjir and Pradhanpur have also started cultivating chilli and vegetables along with paddy through drip method.

Dr. Khubchand Baghel honored with Krishak Ratna Award

In 2021, Mr. Mukesh Chaudhary was honored by the state government with the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Krishak Ratna Award for his agricultural innovation and adoption of organic and integrated farming. He cultivated pulses and oilseeds, including black gram, mung bean, and chili, along with organic fertilizers in his paddy cultivation. He received a certificate, a memento, and a check for ₹2 lakh (approximately $200,000 USD). This honor boosted his enthusiasm and led to further expansion of his agricultural activities. He

National Herald Case: Big relief to Sonia-Rahul Gandhi in National Herald case

National Desk. Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have received a major relief from a Delhi court in the National Herald money laundering case. The Rouse Avenue Court has refused to take cognizance of the prosecution complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against the Gandhi family.

Pronouncing the verdict on Tuesday, Special Judge Vishal Gogane said that cognizance cannot be taken at this stage as the ED case is not based on any FIR (First Information Report) but only on a private complaint filed by Subramanian Swamy and summons orders issued by the magistrate.

Highlights of the court's decision

In its landmark judgment, the court raised several serious questions about the ED's actions. The court stated that the investigating agency (CBI) had not yet registered any predicate offense, yet the ED continued with the investigation. According to the court, in the absence of an FIR, the money laundering investigation and the prosecution complaint filed on its basis cannot be sustained. The court clarified that money laundering proceedings based on such a complaint are not maintainable and that taking cognizance of a complaint filed by a private individual is not legally permissible. The court also stated that a copy of the FIR will not be provided to Sonia Gandhi and other accused for the time being. The court stated that for these reasons, it is unnecessary to consider other arguments related to the merits of the case.

Now the EOW FIR has become important

Following this court decision, the FIR filed by the Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has become significant. On October 3, the Delhi Police's EOW filed a new FIR related to the National Herald case. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, Suman Dubey, Young Indian Private Limited, and others have been named as accused in this FIR. The accused had demanded a copy of the FIR, but the court clarified on Tuesday that they would not receive a copy.

What is the National Herald case?

Amazon to invest $35 billion in India

New Delhi . E-commerce giant Amazon is planning a massive investment of $35 billion or approximately ₹3.14 lakh crore by 2030 across all its business segments in India. This announcement was made during the company's Amazon Sambhaavna Summit. Amazon's Senior Vice President for Emerging Markets, Amit Agarwal, said that the company will focus on AI-based digitization, boosting exports and job creation in India.

The target is to create 1 million additional jobs by 2030.

According to Aggarwal, Amazon aims to increase exports from India through its platform from the current $20 billion to $80 billion. The company also aims to create 1 million additional jobs by 2030, including direct, indirect, seasonal, and induced employment. He added that Amazon has invested $40 billion in India since 2010. According to a Keystone report compiled from publicly available data, it is the largest foreign investor in India.

Delhi High Court reprimands Centre and DGCA over IndiGo crisis

New Delhi . The Delhi High Court on Tuesday expressed strong displeasure over the ongoing operational crisis at Indigo Airlines. Terming the ever-increasing flight cancellations and delays as a "serious situation", the court asked the Central Government and DGCA how the situation became so bad.

During the hearing, the bench said that due to cancelled flights, passengers had to face inconvenience as well as financial loss. The court also raised the question that when Indigo flights were grounded, why other airlines increased the ticket prices manifold. Terming it as "opportunism", the court asked how tickets which were available for Rs. 4-5 thousand reached Rs. 35-40 thousand.
The High Court stated that delays in implementing the revised FDTL rules and a lack of oversight resulted in the cancellation of over 2,000 flights across the country and the stranding of over 40,000 passengers. A bench of Justices Manmohan and Tushar Rao Gedela remarked that pilot fatigue is a directly safety issue and that regulators should have taken timely action.

The court issued clear instructions that all affected passengers be fully compensated as per the existing DGCA guidelines and the Indian Aircraft Act, 2024. The court stated that any laxity in compensation would not be tolerated.The central government told the court that a show-cause notice has been issued to IndiGo and the airline has admitted its mistake and assured to rectify the situation. The

crisis did not end even on the ninth day.
The country's largest airline IndiGo is facing serious operational glitches for the last nine days. The airline, which operates around 2300 flights daily and has a 60% share in the domestic market, has seen its market cap decline by around Rs 21,000 crore due to the crisis.

A large number of passengers were seen stranded at major airports like Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai on Tuesday as well. A total of five people, including four Ayyappa devotees from Andhra Pradesh, were killed when a speeding car hit a vehicle parked on the roadside near Keelakarai in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. Police gave this information.

Police said that a vehicle was parked on the ECR near Keelakarai today when the car hit it. They said that seven people were injured in this incident and they have been admitted to a hospital here. Police said that a case has been registered in this regard and investigation is going on.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday remembered Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, on his death anniversary, saying, "From birth till the end of our lives, we should be identified as Indians."

Addressing a program organized here to mark the 63rd foundation day of the Uttar Pradesh Home Guard, Adityanath said that today is Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's 'Mahaparinirvan Diwas', and it is a day that inspires ('Prerana Diwas').

Adityanath said, "Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar has inspired every Indian. He used to say that our identity is not determined by our family, our caste, our region, or our language. Rather, every Indian should have the feeling that from birth till the end of our lives, we should be identified as Indians." Ambedkar, one of the chief architects of the Constitution, was also the first Law Minister of independent India. He died on this day in 1956.
