Ambikapur. The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Surguja district. In the district level Republic Day function organized at PG College ground in Ambikapur, the chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Government, Mr. Vijay Sharma hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the parade. Along with inspecting the parade, he read out the message sent by Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai to the people of the state.
He released colorful balloons into the sky as a symbol of the tricolor. He honored the families of martyred soldiers by presenting them with shawls and coconuts, and also honored officers and employees of the district who performed outstanding work with certificates. On the occasion of Republic Day, various departments displayed tableaux showcasing the district's development works and various schemes.
Spectacular march past by the parade contingents
In the Republic Day celebrations, a spectacular march past was performed by 14 contingents under the leadership of Parade-in-Commander Reserve Inspector Mrs. Tripti Singh Rajput, Second Parade-in-Command Sub-Inspector Ms. Sunita Bhardwaj. During this, the contingents performed an attractive march past while marching in step to patriotic tunes.
83 officers and employees who did excellent work were honored -
In the Republic Day celebrations, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma honored 83 officers and employees of various departments who did excellent work by presenting them with certificates and mementos. Beautiful cultural presentations were given by school children in the program. The winning participants were honored by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma.
On this occasion, State Housing Board Chairman Mr. Anurag Singhdev, State Youth Commission Chairman Mr. Vishwavijay Singh Tomar, District Panchayat Chairman Mrs. Nirupama Singh and Vice Chairman Mr. Devnarayan Yadav, Municipal Corporation Ambikapur Mayor Mrs. Manjusha Bhagat and Chairman Mr. Harminder Singh Tinni, Surguja Divisional Commissioner Mr. Narendra Dugga, Inspector General of Police Surguja Mr. Deepak Jha, Collector Mr. Ajit Vasant, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, local public representatives, administration officers and employees along with citizens were present.
