Raipur, June 28, 2026/ Chhattisgarh has achieved a historic achievement, securing first place nationwide in the special campaign conducted from June 15 to July 15 for the registration of pregnant and lactating mothers under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. The state achieved remarkable success by completing 72 percent of the target set in just nine days of the campaign.
The state has not only achieved the highest level in the country in beneficiary registration, but has also surpassed all other states in resolving pre-registered beneficiary complaints. This achievement is the result of the coordinated and dedicated efforts of the Women and Child Development Department, Anganwadi workers, supervisors, field staff, and all relevant stakeholders.
Under the special campaign, Janjgir-Champa district has achieved an outstanding performance, securing first place in the entire state with 96 percent target achievement. This achievement reflects the district's sensitivity, proactiveness, and effective approach to maternal and child welfare.
The Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is an important maternal welfare scheme of the Government of India, which aims to provide financial support to pregnant and lactating women for nutrition, health care, and safe motherhood. He said that maternal and child health is among the top priorities of the state government.
