Hundreds of hectares of area will get water

Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government's Water Resources Department has issued administrative approval of ₹16.03 lakh (163.38 lakh) for four major irrigation schemes in Raipur and Gariaband districts to provide better irrigation facilities to farmers. This approval was granted by the Water Resources Department Ministry (Mahanadi Bhawan) to the Chief Engineer, Mahanadi Godavari Basin, Water Resources Department, Raipur.

With the approved amount, the work of lining, repair and restoration of canals will be done, which will improve water management in the area and will boost agricultural production. Among the approved schemes, Rs 4 crore 99 lakh 15 thousand has been approved for Gujra Diversion Scheme (Raipur), with this approved amount, after completion of canal lining and restoration work, irrigation facility will be provided to 141 hectare area. Similarly, with the approved amount of Rs 2 crore 2 lakh 50 thousand for Patora Diversion Scheme (Gariaband), 84.27 hectare agricultural land will get the benefit of irrigation water from the top renovation and canal lining work.

Rs 4 crore 66 lakh has been approved for Ganiyari Reservoir Scheme (Gariaband). With this approved amount, the work of renovation, repair of waste wear, remodeling of main canal and cement concrete lining will be done. This will develop irrigation capacity in 144 hectare area. Rs 4 crore 35 lakh 73 thousand has been approved for Thakurdev Reservoir Scheme (Gariaband). With this approved amount, the work of renovation, repair and lining of the head, main canal and branch canals will be done, due to this 80 hectare area will get the benefit of irrigation facility.

Durg. A coordination meeting was held today in the District Panchayat meeting hall between public representatives and administrative officials regarding the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, scheduled to be held in the district from September 17th to October 17th, 2026. Chief Minister Shri Sai took seriously the complaint of Pahadi Korwa families in Amanara village, within the Dharamjaigarh area of ​​Raigarh district, not receiving rations. He spoke with Raigarh Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi over the phone, inquiring about the entire matter, and directed that rations be immediately made available to the affected eligible families.

The Chief Minister asked the Collector to thoroughly investigate the distribution records related to the complaint and ensure that no eligible family is deprived of their entitled food grains. If any irregularities are discovered by comparing the distribution recorded on the e-POS machine with the food grains actually distributed to beneficiaries, action should be taken against those responsible as per the rules.

District Collector Mr. Mayank Chaturvedi informed Chief Minister Mr. Sai that an investigation was conducted as soon as the complaint was made. The investigation found the complaint to be true and the concerned ration shop has been suspended. Furthermore, to ensure that hill Korwa families and other beneficiaries do not face any disruption in receiving rations, they have been linked to the Chidori ration shop as an alternative arrangement.

Chief Minister Shri Sai directed that, along with taking necessary action in this matter, the district's public distribution system be continuously monitored to prevent a recurrence of such a situation. Timely and quality ration distribution should be ensured to every beneficiary.

Raipur. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who arrived in Raipur, launched a scathing attack on the previous Congress government in Chhattisgarh. 14th India Industrial Fair to be held in Raipur from September 18 to 20

Raipur, September 2026/ Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, will host key industry representatives, entrepreneurs, investors, and youth from across the country from September 18th to 20th. The 14th India Industrial Fair 2026 is being held at the Science College Open Ground. Organized by Laghu Udyog Bharti, the three-day fair will provide the state's MSMEs, startups, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and youth with the opportunity to connect with industrialists, buyers, and investors from across the country.

This event will not be limited to just an exhibition of industrial products, but will be a comprehensive industrial event bringing together trade, investment, employment, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. The fair will feature product and technology exhibitions, B2B meetings, investor interactions, job placement drives, motivational sessions by experts, and cultural programs.

Raipur, September 2026/ Chhattisgarh University of Technology (CSVTU) Bhilai organized the "Women Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and Startup Felicitation Program" at the Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT), Durg campus to promote women empowerment, self-employment, entrepreneurship, and startup culture. Chancellor and State Governor Ramen Deka distributed Millet Health Carts to 72 women self-help groups and Ignition Grants to 24 startups. Member of Parliament Vijay Baghel, Durg Rural MLA Lalit Chandrakar, Vaishali Nagar MLA Rakesh Sen, former Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, Durg Mayor Alka Baghmar, and Sahakar Bharati's Kaliram Sharma also attended the event.

Chief Guest Governor Shri Ramen Deka said that this event is a pledge to build a new Chhattisgarh through women empowerment, nutritional security and self-employment. He said that two important journeys are being launched here today. One will make our rural women economically self-reliant and encourage them to transform their dreams into enterprises through innovators. He said that higher education and technical knowledge are meaningful only when they connect with the real needs of the society and create new employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. The Governor said that millet is giving a new direction to women entrepreneurship.

When a woman becomes self-reliant, the family becomes stronger.

Millet, or coarse grains, has held special significance in Chhattisgarh's agricultural tradition. Today, the traditional "Shri Anna" (millet) is becoming a new source of income, not only for nutrition but also for farmers, rural families, and women entrepreneurs. Millet, besides being nutritionally important, also provides income opportunities for farmers, rural families, and women entrepreneurs. Women self-help group members will be provided with free millet health carts and comprehensive training in product manufacturing, FSSAI standards, quality control, business management, and marketing to develop them into capable business entities. Emphasizing this initiative to connect women self-help groups with self-reliance, the Governor explained that when a woman becomes self-reliant, her family becomes stronger and the entire community gains confidence.

Women Self-Help Groups gave a new impetus to economic activities in villages

Highlighting youth innovation, Governor Shri Deka said that 24 innovation-based startups are being awarded a total Ignition Grant of ₹50 lakh. Inspiring the youth, he said that failures are natural in the path of innovation, but learning from them and continuously moving forward is the hallmark of a successful entrepreneur. Chhattisgarh's women have traditionally been exemplars of labor, skill, and entrepreneurship. Women's self-help groups have given new impetus to economic activity in villages. Now, the need is to connect their traditional skills with modern training, technology, branding, and marketing.

CSVTU – A Strong Hub for Women's Self-Reliance and Technological Innovation

Governor Mr. Deka commended the Technical University's efforts to disseminate knowledge and resources to the last person in society. He expressed confidence that CSVTU-FORTE (Foundation for Rural Technology and Entrepreneurship) will become a strong center for rural entrepreneurship, women's self-reliance, and technological innovation in the future.
