The encounter took place in the National Park region during a search operation launched by security personnel. Teams from the Bijapur DRG, Dantewada DRG, and the STF participated in the action. Bijapur SP Dr. Jitendra Yadav said the operation dealt a “significant blow” to the Naxal command structure in the area.

Another encounter also occurred near the Taralaguda area along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, where a wounded Naxalite was captured and taken into custody for medical treatment and interrogation.

Government Response:
State Home Minister Vijay Sharma praised the forces for their successful operation, stating that those who surrender will be provided with a safe return and rehabilitation. “If the Naxalites choose violence, the forces will respond firmly,” he said.

Families Appeal for Surrender:
In a rare move, the mothers of top Naxalite leaders Hidma and Barse Deva have publicly appealed to their sons to surrender. Hidma’s mother, Madvi Punji, said, “Come home, my son. Earn and live peacefully in the village among your people.”

Background and Impact:
Hidma, the head of Battalion No. 1 of the CPI (Maoist) and a member of its Central Organizing Committee, is one of the most wanted Naxalite leaders in India. Officials believe the operation marks a key step in weakening the Maoists’ command structure and morale in the region.

Security forces are continuing combing operations in the area. The interrogation of the captured militant is expected to yield crucial information about other Naxal bases and movements.

Investor Connect in Ahmedabad Secures Investment Proposals Worth ₹33,321 Crore; 14,900 Jobs to Be Created

*Chhattisgarh’s Total Investment Proposals Now Reach ₹7.83 Lakh Crore

Raipur:The Investor Connect program held in Ahmedabad has brought a fresh wave of optimism for Chhattisgarh’s industrial landscape, with the state receiving investment proposals worth approximately ₹33,321 crore. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presented Investment Letters to leading companies across diverse sectors, including thermal power, green steel manufacturing, solar cells, pharmaceuticals, and medical food supplements. These investments are expected to generate over 14,900 new employment opportunities across the state. Notably, since the implementation of the new Industrial Policy, Chhattisgarh has attracted a cumulative ₹7.83 lakh crore in investment proposals.

During the Ahmedabad event, Chief Minister Sai engaged in detailed discussions with India’s top industrialists and business leaders about emerging opportunities in Chhattisgarh. Expressing enthusiasm, he said, “It is inspiring to be in Gujarat, the land of industry, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Every grain of Gujarat reflects enterprise, and there is no corner of the world without the presence of our Gujarati brothers.” He emphasized that Gujarat and Chhattisgarh together will play a pivotal role in building a Developed India.

Sai noted that just as Gujarat continues to drive the Indian and global economy, Chhattisgarh is advancing rapidly on its own path of growth. “If Gujarat has enterprise, Chhattisgarh has energy, minerals, skilled manpower, and an investor-friendly industrial policy — a combination that is no less than a blessing for investors,” he remarked.

Highlighting the state’s progressive reforms, the Chief Minister shared that over the past 22 months, the government has implemented more than 350 reforms to make the establishment of industries smoother and faster. Under the state’s Single Window System, approvals are being issued promptly. Sai further added that under the new industrial policy, special incentives and subsidies are being offered, with additional support for industries established in tribal-dominated regions such as Bastar and Surguja. To date, Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals exceeding ₹7.5 lakh crore.

Sai also underlined the state’s strong position in the energy sector, noting that Chhattisgarh ranks second nationally in coal production. “At the recent Energy Summit, we received investment proposals worth ₹3.5 lakh crore,” he said. The state, he added, holds vast potential in thermal, hydel, solar, and forest-based industries.

The Chief Minister highlighted plans to transform Naya Raipur into a dedicated IT and AI data center hub, attracting interest from semiconductor and electronics companies. He also pointed out that tourism has been accorded the status of an industry, opening new avenues for investment in hospitality and wellness sectors.

3. Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. – Announced a ₹200 crore investment to establish a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, creating 200 jobs.

Raipur, 03 July 2025/ In response to the ongoing shortfall in the import of DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertiliser across the country, Chhattisgarh Government has implemented a comprehensive alternative mechanism to address the supply disruption during the current Kharif season. Farmers need not worry about the scarcity of DAP, as the State Government is ensuring adequate availability of suitable alternatives—namely, NPK and SSP fertilisers—through cooperative societies.

To offset the reduced supply of DAP, the Government of Chhattisgarh has increased the distribution targets of NPK (20:20:013 and 12:32:13) by 3.10 lakh metric tons and SSP by 1.80 lakh metric tons. Along with the revised targets, effective arrangements have been made for the storage and timely distribution of these fertilisers. As a result of this strategic enhancement, the overall target for fertiliser distribution during the Kharif season has risen from 14.62 lakh metric tons to 17.18 lakh metric tons.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has assured the farmers that there is no need for anxiety regarding the shortage of DAP fertiliser. Chhattisgarh Government has proactively secured a sufficient supply of alternative fertilisers such as NPK and SSP. As per the guidance of agricultural scientists from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya and officials of the Agriculture Department, farmers can achieve optimal crop yields using these substitutes. Close monitoring is being carried out to ensure that the supply of fertilisers and seeds from societies meets the requirements of the farmers. Resolving farmers’ concerns remains a top priority for the Government.

It is noteworthy that the original fertiliser distribution target for Kharif 2025, as decided by Agriculture Department, was 14.62 lakh metric tons. This included 7.12 lakh metric tons of urea, 3.10 lakh metric tons of DAP, 1.80 lakh metric tons of NPK, 60,000 metric tons of MOP, and 2 lakh metric tons of SSP. In light of the reduced availability of DAP, the department has revised the targets. The DAP target has been brought down from 3.10 lakh metric tons to 1.03 lakh metric tons. In compensation, the NPK target has been raised from 1.80 lakh metric tons to 4.90 lakh metric tons, and the SSP target increased from 2 lakh metric tons to 3.53 lakh metric tons. The targets for urea and MOP remain unchanged. Consequently, the total fertiliser distribution target has now risen from 14.62 lakh metric tons to 17.18 lakh metric tons.

Agricultural experts have emphasised that the shortfall in DAP can be effectively addressed through the calibrated use of alternative fertilisers, without compromising crop productivity. Adequate levels of essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash are vital for optimal yield. Given the current scenario, farmers are being advised to use other phosphate-based fertilisers in place of DAP. Each DAP bag typically contains 23 kilograms of phosphorus and 9 kilograms of nitrogen. As an alternative, a combination of three bags of SSP and one bag of urea provides plants with sufficient phosphorus, calcium, nitrogen, and sulphur. SSP fertiliser supports plant growth and root development, enhancing both the quality and quantity of the harvest. Additionally, farmers are encouraged to use bio-fertilisers to further bridge the gap created by the limited availability of DAP.

According to information received from the Agriculture Department, a total of 12.13 lakh metric tons of fertilisers have been stocked in preparation for Kharif 2025 to ensure the availability of a variety of chemical fertilisers for farmers. Of this, 7.29 lakh metric tons have already been distributed. At present, 4.84 lakh metric tons of fertilisers are readily available for distribution through cooperative and private sectors across the State.

Raipur 3 July 2025/Chhattisgarh Forest Department has played a proactive, constructive, and exemplary role in recognizing and distributing both Individual and Community Forest Resource Rights under The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006. So far, the state has granted an impressive 478,641 Individual Rights and 4,349 CFRR titles covering a total area of 2,006,224 hectares, thereby legally empowering millions of forest-dwelling families. This notable achievement stands as clear testimony to the State’s administrative commitment, transparency, and dedication to sustainable development.

During the course of CFRR implementation, in the absence of model management plans and detailed guidelines, the Department issued only an advisory to its field officers to ensure that community management plans are scientifically harmonized with the National Working Plan Code, 2023. This advisory became necessary because, without a clear framework, field-level implementation was increasingly inconsistent, posing serious risks of ecological degradation, conflict with MoEF&CC-approved working plans, and potential disputes among communities and departments. Some NGOs and Gram Sabhas perceived this advisory as an attempt to restrict rights, whereas the Department’s sole intent was to ensure transparent, sustainable, and legally robust management preparedness.

The letter dated 15.05.2025 issued by the Office was purely an interim procedural measure directing that only approved CFR management plans be implemented until model plans were issued. This letter inadvertently referred to the Forest Department as the “Nodal Agency,” while the correct designation was “Facilitator.” This typographical error was duly corrected by a corrigendum dated 23.06.2025. In view of the confusion that arose, Hon’ble Minister for Forest & Climate Change, Shri Kedar Kashyap, directed the withdrawal of both the letter and the clarification, which has been effected through Office Letter No. 536 dated 03.07.2025, and the withdrawal process is currently under implementation.

To take forward the implementation of CFRR in the true spirit of the Act and the joint guidelines dated 14.03.2024, the Chhattisgarh Forest Department has formally requested the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change to urgently issue model CFR management plans aligned with the National Working Plan Code, 2023, to provide detailed implementation guidelines, and to publish a comprehensive training module or handbook for the capacity building of master trainers and all stakeholders including Gram Sabha representatives.

The Chhattisgarh Forest Department reaffirms its commitment to implement CFRR in a fully transparent, scientific, and participatory manner, integrating traditional knowledge and ensuring the rightful recognition and sustainable management of community forest resources across the state.

Raipur 3 July 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday reaffirmed the state’s commitment to digital transformation, calling electronics and information technology a key pillar in the vision of ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh 2047’, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ roadmap.

Chairing a high-level review meeting of the Electronics and Information Technology Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, CM Sai directed officials to accelerate the rollout of mobile towers and fiber optic networks, particularly in remote and underserved regions such as Bastar and Surguja.

“In order to ensure governance that is efficient, transparent and accessible, it is essential to strengthen digital infrastructure across the state,” Shri Sai said.

A target of installing over 5,000 mobile towers has been set and will be achieved in a phased manner within a defined timeline, officials informed during the meeting.

Under e-District 2.0, the government will expand its current 85 online services to include 250 more, enabling citizens to access key schemes and facilities from home.

The move will save time and reduce travel costs for the public. The CM also directed officials to upgrade the State Data Centre to Tier-III standards for enhanced digital reliability.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai inquired about the progress of major projects run by the department in the state - Atal Monitoring Portal, Niyad Nellnar and LWE Saturation Dashboard, BharatNet Phase-2, Chhattisgarh State Data Center (CGSDC), Aadhar Enrollment In-House Model, e-District 2.0, CG Swan, e-Procurement and Capacity Building and other schemes.

Principal Secretary Mrs Niharika Barik highlighted key digital milestones, including the long-pending data center upgrade tender, now finalized after four years. She noted the successful rollout of the Mineral 2.0 portal, Wi-Fi Ministry Scheme, and the e-District Portal. Additionally, the BharatNet Phase-2 proposal has been submitted to the Centre, and an Atal Monitoring Portal has been developed to track KPIs of 100 schemes across 19 departments.

Raipur 27 June 2025/ The comprehensive campaign against Naxalism in Bijapur district got a big success today. 13 notorious hardcore Naxalites active in the district, carrying a reward of Rs 23 lakh, surrendered before the security forces and pledged to return to the mainstream.Ten of these surrendered naxalites had rewards ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹8 lakh declared on their heads.

Raipur, June 17, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has said that our government is giving top priority to making road transport and traffic safe and smooth.Deployment of 48 new vehicles to the flying squad engaged in transport and traffic safety will definitely reduce accidents, traffic will become smooth and people will become more aware about following traffic rules.Shri Sai was addressing the program organized at his residential office today. On this occasion, he handed over the keys of these vehicles to the inspectors of the Transport Department.

Raipur, 17 June 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai launched the Sarthak and Rakshak campaign to create awareness about child rights on the occasion of the 15th Foundation Day celebrations of Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission.On this occasion, while addressing the program organized at Pandit Deendayal Auditorium in the capital Raipur, he said that the State Child Rights Protection Commission has an important role in raising awareness about child rights in the remote areas of the state.

He said that new campaigns like Saarthak and Rakshak will prove effective in creating awareness among the people about the rights of children. 

Chief Minister Shri Sai while addressing the programme said that a strong society can be built only through education.In the remote areas of Chhattisgarh state, especially in the Bastar and Surguja divisions, children at an early age migrate to other cities in search of work but due to lack of information they often become victims of exploitation.It is the responsibility of the commission to identify such children and provide them benefits of government schemes by linking them to employment. He said that our government is running many schemes focused on children and youth.Our government is providing facilities of schools, colleges and coaching in every village. Along with this, more and more facilities are being provided to the students through initiatives like Prayas in the field of education, Nalanda campus and Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi.

Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing the function of women district presidents and Pratibha Samman of Sen Samaj organized in the capital Raipur today. On this occasion, he announced approval of Rs 20 lakh for the social building of Sen Samaj in Balod city.The Chief Minister inaugurated the program by paying homage to the oil painting of Sen Maharaj and lighting a lamp.

Chief Minister Shri Sai further said in the program that education is very important for change in any society.Today, there is a need to advance women in the field of education in society. When a woman is educated, the whole family benefits from it. A strong society can be created only through an empowered woman and a strong nation can be created through an empowered society.

Raipur, June 16, 2025/ A new ray of hope has now emerged in the lives of the youth of Dantewada, who once struggled with challenges. This change has come through a unique and unprecedented initiative at the center of which are Indian Institute of Management IIM Raipur, Dantewada District Administration and Chhattisgarh Government.

When the Entrepreneurship Certificate Program Batch-2 concluded at IIM Raipur on June 13, 2025, not only certificates were distributed on the stage, but wings were given to the dreams of the youth.This two-month residential program provided in-depth education to 50 selected youth from Dantewada on various facets of industry, business and innovation. 

The youth of Dantewada, who once lived amidst limited opportunities and unstable conditions, are now able to see a clear picture of their business dreams.Rakesh Yadav of Dantewada, who has received entrepreneurship training at IIM, says that this training taught him that Mahua and Tamarind of our forests can also become the basis of employment. Now I don't just dream, I have moved towards realizing them.Participants like Abhishek Gupta from Kirandul, Tejasv Kumar and Neelam Pandey from Bijapur said that IIM training is proving to be a turning point in their lives.

This day is special for all of us.He told the school children to study diligently, ask questions with curiosity, find answers and move ahead with confidence.Chief Minister Shri Sai said that "We have tried to improve the future of the state by making extensive changes in accordance with the resolutions of the new education policy of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.You can concentrate on your studies without any worry and leave the rest of the worries to me. Your education and bright future are our top priority."

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is ensuring that no school remains without a teacher. For this, all necessary efforts are being made so that a holistic and inspiring environment for education can be created.On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt best wishes to the school children as well as their parents and teachers for the new academic session.

Raipur 16 June 2025/ The third meeting of the governing body of Chhattisgarh CAMPA was held today in the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai directed that the CAMPA funds should be properly utilized as per the rules.

In the meeting, he reviewed the works being carried out under CAMPA in detail and also provided necessary guidelines.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that 44 percent of the land area of Chhattisgarh state is covered with forests.Our state has abundant forest wealth. Chhattisgarh ranks tenth in the country in terms of geographical area, while the state ranks third in terms of forest area. The CAMPA fund plays an important role in the conservation and development of forests.Therefore, it should be used on the basis of priorities as per the need.

The Chief Minister obtained information from the officials about the works related to forest development, forest protection, wildlife conservation and infrastructure development done in the past years under CAMPA.On this occasion, the Chief Executive Officer (CAMPA) presented the progress made so far and the important works done under CAMPA funds before the Governing Body.

It was told in the meeting that under CAMPA scheme, works like tree plantation in forest areas, Groundwater conservation, conservation of Devgudis, upgradation of forest roads, construction of culverts and ramparts, pasture development, establishment of nurseries, construction of high-tech barriers, river bank plantation, residential buildings for frontline staff,restoration of forest villages, fire safety and wildlife management have been implemented.
