Over 6.70 lakh people took the oath of de-addiction at around 20,000 places.

Raipur. The 5th anniversary of the Drug Free India Campaign was celebrated in Chhattisgarh with unprecedented public participation and awareness. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the leadership of Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, a massive public campaign unfolded across the state. In coordination with all state departments, the Social Welfare Department organized a large-scale pledge program, with people from all walks of life enthusiastically participating.
The main state-level event was held at Hotel Marriott in Raipur. Several senior officials and employees, including Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Disabled Finance and Development Corporation, Shri Lokesh Kavadia, Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, Shri Bhuvnesh Yadav, and Director Smt. Roktima Yadav, were present. All those present took the pledge of drug de-addiction, expressing their collective resolve to eradicate drugs.

Massive events organized across the state accelerated the campaign's momentum manifold.
24,749 people took the pledge at 543 sites. 69,356 youth participated in 505 programs at universities and colleges. 3,98,675 students and teachers in 7,452 schools pledged to build a drug-free society. 1,20,410 people pledged to quit drugs and inspire others to do the same in 9,355 programs organized by health workers and self-help groups. 57,570 people took the pledge at 2,103 other events.
Thus, a total of 6,70,760 people pledged to a drug-free society through online and offline channels at 19,958 sites—a historic record of public participation in the state.
The live broadcast of the major national event, organized by the Government of India at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, was watched en masse by all districts, departments, government offices, universities, colleges, and schools across Chhattisgarh. This sparked new awareness and participation in the state.

The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) is a significant initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, strengthening public awareness, counseling, treatment, and rehabilitation services. Under the leadership of Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Chhattisgarh has transformed the campaign into a comprehensive social movement, involving departments such as Education, Health, Panchayat and Rural Development, Women and Child Development, Urban Administration, and Youth Services.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai stated that this public participation reflects Chhattisgarh's collective commitment to a drug-free society. Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade also stated that public awareness, counseling, and community-based activities will continue in the state, ensuring Chhattisgarh's continued progress towards becoming a drug-free and progressive state.
This widespread participation by Chhattisgarh has sent a strong national message that the state is united against drug abuse and is determined to build a healthy, safe, and aware society.
