From kitchen to millionaire, Maheshwari from Korda village became an example of self-reliance after joining the Bihan group.
Raipur. Government schemes like the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme) are crucial for empowering women economically. These initiatives are empowering rural and urban women by providing them with opportunities for respectable income through small businesses, skills training, and digital literacy.
The story of Mrs. Maheshwari Yadav, a resident of Korda village in the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district of Chhattisgarh, is a great inspiration for women who want to make their families financially independent. Until about four years ago, Maheshwari's life was limited to the mundane responsibilities of household chores, but her decision to join the Bihan group gave her dreams new wings. With the support of her husband, Mr. Rameshwar Yadav, and financial assistance received through the Bihan Yojana, she opened a small grocery store in her village. Her hard work and excellent management have now become the mainstay of her family's prosperity.

With the successful operation of the shop, Maheshwari now earns an annual income of 1 to 1.5 lakh rupees, earning her the distinction of becoming a Lakhpati Didi. This financial stability has had a significant positive impact on her children's future. She has three sons, currently studying in grades 12, 8, and 5. Maheshwari is now able to provide them with a good and quality education without any financial burden. The Bihan Group not only gave her a new identity in society but also established her as a successful entrepreneur, proving that with strong willpower, even from the streets of a village, one can achieve great success. For this, Maheshwari expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai.
