Raipur. A study team from the Defense College, New Delhi, paid a courtesy call on Governor Ramen Deka today. The 16-member team was visiting Chhattisgarh from March 15th to 20th as part of the Defense College's Understanding India Study Tour (UIST) on national security and strategic studies. On the last day of their visit, the team met Governor Deka today. The team included senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces, military officers from friendly countries, and some civil service officers. The team visited various tourist destinations in Chhattisgarh, including the Barnawapara Sanctuary, the Tribal Museum, Purkhaiti Muktangan, various waterfalls in Bastar, and the Shilpgram in Kondagaon.

Addressing the study team members, Governor Deka said, "Chhattisgarh is a beautiful state. Tell your friends and family about your visit and the beauty of Chhattisgarh so they can also come here as tourists." He discussed the unique features of Chhattisgarh with the study team. He explained that Chhattisgarh is known as the rice bowl and that rice varieties have been preserved here. He also discussed Chhattisgarh's handicrafts, such as Dhokra art, wooden art, and bamboo art. The state is also rich in talent, with thousands of software engineers from Chhattisgarh serving in Houston, USA. Furthermore, the North American Chhattisgarh Association, an organization of Chhattisgarhi immigrants settled in the US, organizes a Swadeshi Mela in the US, showcasing Chhattisgarh's art, culture, and traditions. He spoke about promoting renewable energy sources and fostering innovation in the health and education sectors. Deka also informed the study team about the Chhattisgarh government's public welfare policies.

During the visit, the study team members shared their experiences and praised the beauty, culture, art, and traditions of Chhattisgarh. The study team praised the hospitality of Chhattisgarh, saying that the people here are simple and cordial. They all enjoyed their visit. The study team members also praised the public welfare schemes implemented in the state, such as the Mahatari Vandan, Krishak Unnati Yojana, and the Naxal Rehabilitation Policy.
