Four employees, including the in-charge, were suspended after the death of 15 deer.

Ambikapur. After the death of 15 deer in Sanjay Van Vatika due to stray dog ​​attack, Chief Conservator of Forests, Surguja Forest Circle, Dilraj Prabhakar, considering it as serious negligence, has suspended the in-charge of the forest garden and three assistants with immediate effect. A total of 15 deer died in the incident, including Kotra, Chital and Chausingha species. The dead included both males and females. The death of one more deer has also been confirmed after the incident. 

According to the order issued, Deputy Forest Range Officer (SCFO) and in-charge Ashok Sinha, Assistant Forest Guard Mamta Parte, Pratima Lakra and Bindu Singh have been suspended under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services Conduct Rules 1965. The officials are accused of gross indifference in the conservation of wild animals


According to reports, 4-5 stray dogs entered the enclosure and attacked the deer. A large number of wildlife died in this attack, raising questions about the forest park's security. A serious point in this case is that the park management attempted to conceal the incident. Evidence has been found that the bodies of 14 deer were taken to the back of the forest and burned, which has further escalated the matter. Upon receiving information about the incident, DFO Abhishek Jogawat arrived at the scene and took stock of the situation. He has formed a team led by the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) to investigate the matter, which has been instructed to submit a report within twoguides
