Government's failure exposed on the very first day of paddy procurement: Congress
Raipur. Paddy procurement began in the state yesterday, but 2,560 of the 2,748 procurement centers saw no purchases on the first day. State Congress Communications Department President Sushil Anand Shukla stated that the government had made no preparations. Society employees are on strike. Computer operators are on strike. Farmers' tokens are not being issued. 15,000 society employees across the state are on strike, and the government is not paying any attention to ending the strike; instead, they are threatening them with the imposition of the NSA. Not only did the paddy procurement start 15 days late, but the lack of procurement at all centers even by the announced date is a conspiracy by the government. The government doesn't have the money to purchase paddy at Rs. 3,100, so various tactics are being used to ensure a minimum purchase price.
Sushil Shukla stated that on the very first day, farmers waited for tokens, gunny bags, and weighing machines, but ultimately returned disappointed. Tokens are not being issued even through the app, nor is there any offline arrangement at the paddy procurement centres; the ground reality is contrary to the government's claims. He said that society employees are on strike. This government had given written assurances regarding their demands during the last Kharif season, but they were not fulfilled. Now, instead of discussing them, employees of cooperative societies in Raipur district are being threatened with dismissal through the imposition of the NSA. This government has resorted to barbarity to hide its breach of promise. There is still uncertainty regarding the transportation and milling of paddy from procurement centers. Those responsible are nowhere to be found.
