Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the passing out parade of the Sub Inspector cadre held at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy in Chandkhuri. He inspected the parade and took the salute. On this occasion, he congratulated and wished the officers of Subedar, Sub Inspector and Platoon Commander cadre for successfully completing their training. A total of 859 trainees completed their training in this session, which includes 54 Subedars, 528 Sub Inspectors (GD), 02 Sub Inspectors (Computer), 01 Sub Inspector (Radio), 01 Sub Inspector (Fingerprint), 68 Sub Inspectors (SB) and 205 Platoon Commanders.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this day marks a memorable milestone in the lives of all the trainees, from where they are moving forward with a resolve to serve the nation and Mother Chhattisgarh. He said that this achievement, achieved after rigorous training, is a matter of pride not only for the trainees, but also for their families and the entire state. He mentioned that when he presented these young people with appointment letters last year, they possessed talent, and today, after training, they have acquired discipline, confidence, and leadership skills, which will make them successful officers.

Describing the police service as a highly prestigious and responsible one, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that integrity is the foundation of any prestigious service. Motivating the trainees, he said that the fundamental duty of the police is to protect citizens. Whenever a citizen feels unsafe, the first person they turn to is the police. Therefore, maintaining public trust is the police's foremost responsibility. He said that the uniform is not just a right, but a symbol of the commitment to public safety and the associated prestige, which must be maintained under all circumstances. He said that responsibility is never easy, but it can be fulfilled successfully with competence and dedication. Just as hard work during training leads to satisfaction and success in service, consistent effort and dedication lead to success.
The Chief Minister also said that today's graduation ceremony is not just a departure from the academy, but a sign of entering the real field of work. He linked it to the Sanatan tradition of the 'Nishkraman' ritual, explaining that just as a child leaves home for the first time, these trainees are leaving the safe training environment and entering the service field with extensive responsibilities.
The Chief Minister stated that significant reforms have been made in policing in Chhattisgarh. In the past two years, the recruitment process has been made transparent and expedited, modern technology and equipment have been incorporated into the police force, and special units have been established to combat cybercrime. The training system has also been given a more practical and modern touch. He clarified that the police of the future will not only be a law enforcement agency, but will also function as a proactive service provider, requiring it to transform from a reactive to a proactive agency.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the country is currently undergoing a historic transformation, with new laws such as the Indian Judicial Code, the Indian Civil Defence Code, and the Indian Evidence Act replacing colonial laws. This convocation is of special significance as this is the first batch of sub-inspectors to receive training under these new codes. He expressed confidence that these officers will strengthen the justice system by effectively enforcing these laws.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is working on the three pillars of security, development, and trust, and the role of the police is crucial in strengthening these three pillars. He said that the police should not be limited to maintaining law and order, but should also connect with society and win the trust of the people, as territory can be won through fear, but hearts can only be won through trust.
Citing the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, he stated that the country is working towards a smart, technology-driven, and sensitive policing system. He said that the police of the future will be equipped with digital, technological, and advanced tools, but public trust can only be earned through behavior, conduct, and integrity.
The Chief Minister said that the lives of these trainees are no longer merely personal, but are dedicated to serving society and the state. He called upon all officers to give top priority to justice, honesty, and humanity while performing their duties every day. Finally, he congratulated everyone for this achievement and expressed confidence that through their loyalty and dedication, they will play a vital role in making Chhattisgarh safe, strong, and prosperous. He said that these officers are not only protectors of the law, but also guardians of the hopes and trust of the state.
